Revisiting lesser WTF Jazz history

Other than hosting the all-star game, 92-93 was one of the most disappointing seasons of the Stockton-Malone era. The Jazz had two all-time greats but really struggled to build a solid supporting cast. Picking up Hornacek in 93-94 was a franchise-changing move.

It was at the jr jazz meet a random jazz player( with all the hype and speculation as a kid) where it truly hit me. The player at my jr jazz event was some guy with a moustache that no one seemed to recognize... It should have been you Blue....it should have been you...

I remember Sloan getting a 6 or 7 game suspension for putting hands on a ref

I remember his 7 game suspension in 2003. I remember a lot of ejections in the 90's that stayed ejections. Today they would be suspensions no doubt about it.

I was at that game - it was my first Jazz game where I had floor seats. I was sitting about 35 feet from where Malone landed and you could literally feel the ground shake under you when he hit the hardwood.

Great game - this was a win against the Jason Kidd NJ Nets where they had that 3 year window when they were actually good. I think they went to the NBA Finals twice.

Malone took 16 FTs that game and he could probably have taken 40. The Nets had no one who could guard him so they would foul him on every single offensive possession and just dare the refs to call it - it was insane.

My other memory of that game was in the fourth quarter Stockton drew a charge on Jason Kidd - he got up and pumped his fist like a lunatic - it was the most animated I ever saw him on the basketball court other than "the shot." Stockton always seemed to bring a little extra when he played against Kidd.

Always was confused with Murdoch, dude is white in SNES Bulls vs Blazers hah!

I doubt it's a coincidence that Hot Rod called him that too.

Hot Rod was drunk and that name was long... this is not a knock... I loved that drunk bastard. RIP

I watched that Nets/Jazz game on TV. Malone took a lot of **** from opposing players, and didn't retaliate.

I also remember Bill Laimbeer clotheslining Malone in the last game they played. This was some years after the elbow that Malone gave to Isaiah Thomas.

Not more than once, anyway. Because Sloan wins that matchup all day long.

He never would’ve choked Sloan because Sloan always had the respect of his players. Hell, he demanded it. He was a straight shooter and honest. Sloan wouldn’t have just jackpotted around and let Spre choke him out. Lol.
