Rick Adleman for Head Coach?

Why would he come here when he could coach the Lakers or someone a lot better?
 
Yes, this is what would have to happen for Adleman to get the job, which would negate the idea of job security.
but it doesn't matter since Ty has the job now. Until he retires.
 
I am with Bentley though, I'd love to have Adelman as our coach. With Phil on his way out, I'd say the Coach's Power Rankings look somewhat like this right now:

1. Pops
2. Adelman
3. Thibodeau
4. Nissalke
5. Karl
 
No way the Jazz drop Corbin after signing him to a multiple years. Of course unless Jimmer wants to coach. :)

Do you know Adelman's record his first year as head coach?

I'll give you a hint, it wasn't good.

EDIT: In fact, I'll give an even better idea. He took over from a coach who was OVER .500 in the middle of the year and finished well below .500

Yeah, Corbin could be good. I like him. It's just that Adleman has coached some great teams - and his players were fun to watch when they played under him.

Also, he earned a ring in 2002 but it was stolen from him and given to Los Angeles.
 
But I"m not getting my panties in a bunch over signing Adleman. I know it's not gonna happen. And I do like Ty. Done.

Indeed, brilliant to pretend to know the future.
My point is this, we had a super good, consistently contending team forever..I liked that alot and always stood up for the way the Jazz did it. Didnt take big risks and always put a good product out there. That is over. Adelman is exactly that again. Had great players, couldnt get over the hump...ever...DONT want that anymore. Change is here, lets take risks. Ty is a risk. Judging him right now is worse than stupid. Give him a full year at least with some players. He might not pan out at all, and then he will have as many rings as Adelman still. YES, that is what I want now. To win it all. Screw the old days of being safe and 50 win seasons, going to 2nd round, maybe WCF...been there for 20 plus years..I am fairly confident, unlike alot of Jazz FO haters, that we wont EVER fall to the degree of some franshises. SO, take the big risks, get big rewards.
Adelman is NO risk. He would come and I would bet we make the playoffs next year for sure. Get to possibly the 2nd round...Sound familiar? NO TY

Absolutely.

Utah didn't give Corbin a multi-year contract just to give up on him after a few months, nor should they, but the no rings = we don't want whoever argument is just silly.
