Romney To Release 2011 Tax Return

Of course he is are not happy. He wants the last 10 years, a blood smaple, first born, urine sample, eye test, dental exam, strip search and a date night.

I never understood the tax argument anyway.
I highly doubt any of those crook..... I mean politicians actually pay their taxes, outside of the Ron Paul types.

Their policies are what's important.
Oh wait.... their policies are all the same.

Not only did he release his 2011 returns, he released information about his returns for the past 20 years:

- In each year during the entire 20-year period, the Romneys owed both state and federal income taxes.

-Over the entire 20-year period, the average annual effective federal tax rate was 20.20%.

-Over the entire 20-year period, the lowest annual effective federal personal tax rate was 13.66%.

-Over the entire 20-year period, the Romneys gave to charity an average of 13.45% of their adjusted gross income.

-Over the entire 20-year period, the total federal and state taxes owed plus the total charitable donations deducted represented 38.49% of total AGI.

-During the 20-year period covered by the PWC letter, Gov. and Mrs. Romney paid 100 percent of the taxes that they owed.

Former IRS Commissioner Fred Goldberg, who reviewed the Romneys' tax documents:

These returns reflect the complexity of our tax laws and the types of investment activity that I would anticipate for persons in their circumstances. There is no indication or suggestion of any tax-motivated or aggressive tax planning activities. In my judgment, they have fully satisfied their responsibilities as taxpayers. They have done so by relying on a highly reputable return preparer and other advisors, who have in turn relied primarily on information provided by third parties to them and to the IRS. The end result of that process has been returns that include a multitude of schedules, IRS forms and accompanying statements that provide appropriate transparency and the proper payment of taxes that Governor and Mrs. Romney owe under current law.

I want to see the tax returns for some of the big name talking heads. They've all criticized Romney, he released his, now they can do the same.

Matt Lauer made 17 million last year, how much did he pay in taxes?
Brian Williams 13 Million
Anderson Cooper 11 Million

Keith Oberman 10 Million

How much did they pay in taxes?

Now, they ought to start asking for somebody to finally release his college transcripts.

He overpaid on his taxes last year - any one care to guess why?

He overpaid his taxes by limiting the charitable deductions he chose to claim, which could have driven his obligations to government even lower. Had he claimed everything he could, his effective tax rate would have dropped even more and the 99% would be screaming about how he's not paying his fair share... oh, wait, they already are.

and the 99% would be screaming about how he's not paying his fair share... oh, wait, they already are.

That's because the tax system is a joke anyway.
These rich boys can easily channel most, if not all of there tax percentages through intermediaries, or charities that they set up themselves.

Sounds pretty fair I'd say.

So he overpaid because 99% of the people in the country thinks he's undertaxed?

Good answer

I just can't believe this!!! I mean Harry Reid had an anonymous, ANONYMOUS source I tell you!!! There is no way these returns are real!
