Rookie Contract Power Rankings

He's a better defender than Keyonte, who you've ranked #3.

I believe that Key has the tools to become a capable defender and an elite shot maker I’ve been a keynote homer since he got drafted though my profile picture hasn’t changed since his rookie year of summer league lol

Lot of ways to rank this, mine is based on what I think is the median outcome for their career. Someone like Key has a higher median outcome imo but a lower ceiling for us to hope for

1. Ace Bailey
2. Walker Kessler
3. Kyle Filipowski (lot of question marks on defense, but a decent playmaking big who can shoot will always have a roster spot)
4. Keyonte George (teams are increasingly skeptical of inefficient guards, but I just think his punch gives him a "real NBA player" median)
5. Walt Clayton Jr
6. Taylor Hendricks (would be higher but we will see how he comes back. 3&D wings will always be in vogue)
7. Brice Sensabaugh (expected to have him higher, and the gap is close 5-7)
8. Cody Williams (I like Cody and love the improvement we've seen, hope he can improve but I would still say the median outcome feels low)
9. Isaiah Collier (I know I'm joining the bandwagon, but aside from the pretty glaring holes he has had some emotion outbursts like with Sexton last year that have concerned me)
10. Tonje

I like this thread a lot. Enjoy seeing how everyone ranks these dudes.

This has been an interesting read.

1 - Kessler - he is the one doing the best and has the most impact to the jazz right now.
2 - George - has the next impact on the jazz. He needs to be more efficient true but with Clarkson gone he should fill his shoes very well. I expect him to be in for the 6th man of the year.
3 - Filipowski - he is going to be a key player off the bench for the Jazz. I expect him to get many touches this season.
4 - Bailey - I can't rate him any higher until he actually plays some meaningful minutes in the NBA. I am hoping he jumps to #1 sometime this year.
5 - sensabaugh - he has an NbS skill that is very valuable. He can shoot the ball. He is a very good scorer but doesnt seem to have a great basketball IQ. He will also be a key reserve if he continues to knock down shots.
6 - Hendricks - I hope i put him higher but I need to see what he can do after the injury. He could easily move up with some solid play. I actually love the pairing of Flip with TH.
7 - Clayton - it is hard to put him above these 2 with out having played any minutes but he is a competitor. He will hit enough shots to make him relevant. I would not crybis he became the starting PG. He could easily move up.
8 - Collier - will probably have enough rope to hang himself. He needs to hit shots to make his drives more effective. I am just not confident he will excel. I can see him losing his starting role.
9 - Williams - until proven wrong he is here. I have liked what i have seen. If he focuses on being a 3 and D player he could find minutes. Until he gets stronger and more aggressive he will ride the pine.

1- Ace - until proven otherwise his is the highest ceiling two way player on the list

2- Kessler - He is the player that has proven elite NBA skill on the defensive end

3- Flip - Also near proving an NBA elite skill, on offense though

4- Williams - Two way potential is enough to lift him here

5- Hendricks - I’ve liked his game all along- this is more of a hopium, since the #s don’t show it, more a measurables and attitude thing

6- Clayton - Mental energy and killer on offense

7- Sensabaugh - Amazing shooter- if he can add some stats to the rest of the box score, he has a path to being an all-star, may move up this list rapidly if he shows out

8- Collier - End of last season shows he has incredible potential as an assist guy, but his weaknesses are just as glaring as his strengths

9- Keyonte - Until and unless he can find a way to be efficient his spot is comepletely replacable with 50 other players in the NBA, attitude is holding him back

10- Edited to add Tonje- placeholder for now until we have more data
