Where is the "*****YES!" option !!?

The Jazz needs to match in my opinion, it's a no brianer as far as i'm concern. Wesley has become our best defender in only a few months. He is very young, very though and you have to keep him no matter what.

The mistake here is allowing him to receive such offers. KOC should have known that portland would be able to make such an offer especially after the reports saying that they were interested in Matthews. They should have offered Matthews a good offer on the first day and thus signing him before Portland was making that toxic offer.

After letting Korver go i can't see the Jazz not matching this offer. That would be the worst offseason in years. And id we get back Ronnie Brewer that would top it off. A guy that even the Grizzlies don't want to keep, are you serious !?

I think Portland is just trying to collect assets. If the Jazz think Matthews is going to have that kind of market value longer term, they should keep him, even if just to trade him along with a TPE.

I voted yes. Portland is demonstrating that Matthews has significant market value even on a team that has two SGs and drafted a combo guard in Elliot Williams.

I don't buy the "screw the Jazz" motivation for Matthews. They just have more money and aren't afraid to spend. Hell look at Outlaw... is Wes better or worse or the same as him? He got 5y/35M

For me, this is a tough one. The Jazz have a week to consider, but emotions aside, the only real question should be whether the Jazz can get just as good a player for less.

No, the only question is whether Matthews is an asset that's worth the price. If he is, you keep him, either to play him or to trade him. You don't let him go for nothing. You only let him go if he's a bad contract.

I'd go ahead and keep him. He's young and improving. Arguably, he's already playing at a Raja Bell level. So what if the contract is front loaded. Look at the value of the contract longer term.

Good point, and that's sumthin to consider. Because of the peculiarities of the CBA this is the MOST money Matthews can get right now, even if he were worth twice that much.

This part is debatable. I don't take Portland's offer to be indicative of "market value" under the circumstances. It could be, but not simply "because it was offered." Portland has ulterior reasons, unrelated to "market value," for makin this kinda offer to Matthews.
