Utah’s deja vu encounters with the Grizzlies ends tonight.

After what had to be a harrowing experience on their flight to Memphis, the Utah Jazz will take on the Memphis Grizzlies for the 3rd time in 4 games.

Having beat the Grizzlies twice already, the Jazz will look for a clean sweep against a Grizzlies team that will now be defending their home court.

Like before, this is a nice warm up for the upcoming playoffs for the Jazz. Playing a solid team like the Grizzles this many times in such a short period is good practice for the playoffs and now the Jazz get to simulate going to another teams home court like they would in the playoffs.

After their recent scary flight experience it was announced that Donovan Mitchell would not be with the team for personal reasons.

Mitchell has been on an absolute tear lately so the rest of the team will have to pick it up. Joe Ingles will likely take his spot and has been incredible post all star break, and for the entire season really.

It won’t be easy without Mitchell but the Jazz depth has proven good enough in the past to overcome him missing a few games.

What to watch for?

Who steps up in Donovan Mitchell’s absence?

Losing Mitchell definitely hurts, but the Jazz have proven they have incredible depth this year. Mike Conley will likely step in and get more shots and run the offense more. That has proven enough in the past. In the two games Mitchell missed early this year because of his concussion, the Jazz went 2-0.

That’s not to say that Utah is a shoe-in to win tonight, it’ll take them playing a solid gameplan to get it done. Since all-star break Mitchell has saved the Jazz from some mediocre offensive nights with some incredible playmaking and shotmaking. Wthout that the Jazz need Jordan Clarkson to find some more consistency with his shooting and scoring and they need literally anything from Bojan Bogdanovic and that will be an improvement.

If they get solid nights from those to, the Jazz should take this one pretty easily.
