Hockey is cool though, and I guess people get paid. The fact is that it's a regional sport and most of America isn't able to be exposed to it. If you live in the South and want to play Hockey you have to have money to be able to access the facilities necessary. Eliminates a huge portion of the athletic population of America.
Also, even if they could, it would still be the 4th most popular sport. I'm guessing Hockey is the most popular in Canada, maybe 2nd behind soccer.
