Stevenson had 1, Anderson had several, but bottom line is they overall had average or below careers. That may happen to Wes too, and it is a risk when considering 7 mil a year offer for 5 years, when we already have starters in place.

Again your comparisons are about after guys left the team. Not when they stayed. Everyone on this board whether they like Sloan or not knows that this system can make certain players better than they are. Key word is CERTAIN players. Matthews is a guy who fits our system. That is why he is worth that amount. Because he fits our system.
If you show me a guy who played for the Jazz had a really good year than the next year ON THE JAZZ he was horrible please do (injuries of course determine that). That is the only fair comparison.

Brewer is a better finisher, passer, dunker, rebounder, and defender (Matthews D was overrated, Brewer did a much better job on Kobe last year).

Matthews is the worst passing wing we have (besides Jeffers)

Your wrong on that one. Brewer isn't a better defender. He got burnt more often. He was always looking to steal the ball. And Matthews was a rookie defender meaning he will get away with more next year. Matthews played with his feet. Not his hands like Brewer.
Brewer hesitated too much and wasn't as effective passing the ball. Who cares about dunks. And Rebounder? Can't even argue one is better than the other.
 
Give 1 reason why? Did you notice whenever he guarded melo, Melo couldnt score or had to work extremely hard for it. when CJ was on him is when Melo got his points. Give 1 solid reason that Matthews is an over rated defender. Oh and in the Lakers series he blocked Kobe twice.

A rookie is the most overrated defender? Your insane.

Brewer is more overrated. Because he gets steals people thinks he is a good defender. How many times did Brewer go for a steal and the guy went baseline on him for lay up? too many to count. Brewer takes risks that aren't needed. You saw Matthews get steals off the ball. That is how you guard wing players. Especially when you don't have anyone protecting the paint.
 
Will Wes be able to put up 13.7/3.7/2.2/1.7 (points/rpg/apg/steals) next year with similiar minutes? That is what Ronnie did in his full second year. They have different style games but Ronnie is just as productive no matter how you slice it. You can even argue Brewer's steals negate Matthews slightly better man D. Lets not pretend Matthews is Bowen or Battier on D, he will always be shot over by larger players just like Kobe did to him. Yes Wes can space the floor, but has more trouble finishing inside due to his height and average hops (60.7% inside efg compared to Brewer's 65.2%).
Now Matthews is the better fit, but if you can get one at half the cost its a no brainer.
