At rate things are progressing, she may be clunky by the end of 2024 but this is where AI is as of now:

Our monkey brains are no match for what's coming. The end of us won't look like this:

It will look like Emily Pellegrini and will know more about you than you know about yourself.

“We were taken aback by the skyrocketing rates influencers charge nowadays. That got us thinking, ‘What if we just create our own influencer?’” said Diana Núñez, co-founder of the Barcelona-based agency The Clueless, which created Aitana. “The rest is history. We unintentionally created a monster. A beautiful one, though.”

The way I see it, I think it’s better for psychopathic billionaires and incels to bang, abuse, and kill fake women and children than reals ones.

Get after it!

at least there won't be any worry about overpopulation of the earth. Pretty soon a good portion of humans aren't going to leave the house to interact with other humans let alone breed

Leaving the house is scary and people you want to like you may not say the words you want to hear. It is safer to find an unobtainably hot young woman on OnlyFans who for $9 a month will like you. Even a single date with a real human could set you back $100 or more and there are no guarantees, but your $9 OnlyFans girl always comes through. If that angel oozing estrogen through your computer screen ever says something you don't like or maybe gains a couple pounds then ghost her and get a different $9 OnlyFans girl. There is no need for uncomfortable talks, shouting, or bent feelings. Just move on, and if you're really feeling frisky, you could have a threesome for $18 a month. They won't mind. They're into it. Those girls are making bank, or at least they will until something hotter like Emily and her sister who are both into you come along. Then the IP rights owner will be making bank.

In reality, we're already seeing society unravel. Marriage rates are down. Fertility is crashing. Going back as far as humans go, family has been the core that society is built around and fewer families are being built every day. This Valentines Day a new product was launched. This is a real product, and it is cashing in on in the increasing rarity of committed dating.

Naturally the demand was overwhelming and the image now on the first page of the Sweethearts web page breaks the news that they have completely sold out all of these candies.

This topic is really interesting. I tend to look at this issue through an economic lens.

Higher use and reliance on AI should impact birth rates, marriage etc. The reason this is concerning is that it directly impacts our workforce. Marriage not so much, it’s a statistically failed institution and honestly just a personal choice. While there is an argument for skills and fortitude associated with marriage, but the numbers game with new worker production is far more concerning.

We’re witnessing what our economy, and capitalism as a whole, requires to survive. Innovation has always been at the core of growing our economy and adapting to new market conditions.

Looking at history, humans will address this “new normal” through innovation and technology. Think robots and AI. We’ve been talking about job displacement due to automation and that will only continue, and as new tech comes that saves costs, companies will continue to innovate and get leaner. I think the writing is on the wall and we’ll continue to move in this direction. As competition fires up and will move faster and faster.

The beautiful thing is, with many jobs automated it will require society to support the displaced work force in order to keep the economy afloat. It will allow lower to middle, even the wealthy, more time and money to raise a family. Young people cannot afford kids now, can’t even afford housing. It will give time for people to develop closer connections with their partners and allow healthier relationships. Healthcare will be another major piece, we’ll be forced into socialized healthcare, which we’re stubbornly avoiding. Many issues will need to be addressed by both the public and private sectors.

I think our birth rates and marriage rates will rise with a better quality of life. We’ll see.

We can hope, but I fear you are arguing baseless optimism against all the data. The standard of living today is higher by every metric than it was 35 years ago, but back then only 18% of 30-year-old women were childless while today it is the majority of all 30-year-old women who are childless. By the end of this decade it is estimated that the majority of all US women will never have children.

With an increase in the standard of living, the fertility picture is getting worse and is doing so at an astonishing rate but the data isn’t limited to the United States. As you look at fertility rates around the world it becomes crystal clear that countries with a higher standard of living have a lower birth rate.

Decades ago, there were experiments done to see what would happen to rodent populations if they were given an environment with effectively unlimited food, unlimited water, unlimited nesting space that was always clean, free from any predators or disease, and kept at an ideal temperature. It was the highest standard of living possible for a rodent. Every time the experiment was conducted, the rodents died out. They lost the will to live. They stopped giving birth and they died out.

This odd phenomenon was alluded to in the original The Matrix as delivered by Agent Smith who said “Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world? Where none suffered, where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world. But I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through suffering and misery. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. Which is why the Matrix was redesigned to this: the peak of your civilization.”

We could see a boom in babies but I fear the source would be far more dystopian than the picture you paint. Nations need children for that same economic reason you said you were using a lens to view this through. China is in a lot of trouble demographically and are pushing their young women really hard though messaging in their tightly controlled media to have children. It isn’t working.

Governments are a Ponzi scheme and built fundamentally on the idea of there being a larger workforce in the future than there is today. Governments that don’t have that quickly go insolvent. I can imagine a not-too-distant future where the Chinese Communist Party is desperate enough to cling to power that they set up government factories to make their future workforce and taxpayers. There will be a boom in babies but there won't be a boom in women getting pregnant.

Overpopulation as an important step in the process. The US is not overpopulated.

They didn't really hit that point in the video I linked but none of the experiments ever reached a point of overpopulation. That the "universe" would become overpopulated was the hypothesis, and it was falsified.

Theoretical room for 3000 mice does not mean they will happily occupy all available areas. If every experiment capped out at the same population, regardless of space, that would rule out over-population.

I can see your point but it does sabotage a bit your earlier statement about the United States not being overpopulated if capacity isn’t what determines a condition of overpopulation. That said, I don’t want to quibble over the conditions that flips the switch to trigger the behavior. The more important part is that apparently the switch cannot be unflipped.

If a rodent raised in post-peak utopia is taken out of the universe and placed among regular rodents who were never in a utopia universe, the utopia rodent does not revert to regular behavior. It will continue to act like a utopia rodent for the rest of its life. The damage is permanent. This is why utopia colonies die out completely.

A rodent raised pre-peak when there are 200 rodents is different from a rodent raised post-peak when there are 200 rodents. The rodent never has to see the population peak. It only has to be brought up in an environment surrounded by those with the post-peak behavior for it too to permanently exhibit post-peak behavior.

China is trying hard to unflip the switch in their society and they have far more control to attempt an intentional mass behavior experiment than we in the west do, but so far it hasn’t been effective. Time will tell I guess.

"I know conservatives often get frustrated with feminists calling [beauty standards] unattainable, and I agree they can go too far – but still, it’s hard to deny that the pressure to look perfect today is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. ... But it isn’t just unrealistic beauty standards that worry me. What’s even more sinister is the unrealistic emotional standards set by these apps. Eva AI, for example, not only lets you choose the perfect face and body but customize the perfect personality, offering options like “hot, funny, bold,” “shy, modest, considerate,” and “smart, strict, rational. ... How can we compete with that? Already women in relationships complain about porn-addicted partners who aren’t satisfied with actual intimacy. Now we’re facing a future where guys could get addicted to emotional validation elsewhere, sneaking away for some of that unparalleled devotion. Worse, what about young boys who grow up with this? Whose first sexual experience is chatting with AI women who never say no, never argue, never have original thoughts or an identity of their own – and then they try to date a real girl? There are already all these men on Reddit raving about how their AI girlfriends never argue, complain, or get bored of them, while real girls continually disappoint.”

I'm going to have to drop these examples in as links but a Chinese group has the most impressive piece of software in this category that I've seen.

All it needs is a still image and a clip of audio to build a model, rig it for animation, create a series of movements/expressions, and render it into believable video.

If you've ever watched a TikTok video from your phone then the Chinese government today can render video of you saying anything they choose that is good enough that your closest acquaintances likely wouldn't detect the deception.

The old clunky Boston Dynamics Atlas, that was only able to do flips like a gymnast and walk across planks, has been retired. Here is the new version:

It reminds me of the IG-11 assassin droid, able to shoot frontwards and backwards, in the opening season of The Mandalorian.
