I'm so hoping they get this one right. His time in the NBA is most interesting. From being froze out for the first half of his rookie season with the Hawks with reverse discrimination, to scoring 68 points in a game in a Jazz uniform, to winning 10 in a row rolling into the playoffs before a knee injury and losing the final 10 games (without him) to just miss the playoffs, to being treated horribly by Nissalke in Utah who benched him when he was still clearly the best offensive player they had, to scoring 38 points in his final game (a pre-season game that took the bench and beat the starting group for the Celtics that went on to win the Championship). He could've been the greatest player to ever play the game - the movie should explain what transpired that ultimately made it not so.

According to the article, the movie will be based on an original screenplay and not on Mark Krigel's biography; which at times was very unflattering to Pete and The Maravich family.

It will be interesting to see how Nash (a well known liberal) reconciles the bad parts into an accurate telling of his life - especially Maravich's cavorting with right wing religious zealots towards the end of his life.

Lol.

If you thought AI or JR Smith were chuckers... You ain't seen nothing yet!

His teammates couldn't stand him. No defense, all flash, zero substance.

He had a role just like someone's job is a rim protector. I can name many who's defense was no better (Magic Johnson, Steve Nash, ...). Many teammates liked him, but the Hawks did not because he was a bit spoiled at that time, making more as a white rookie than many proven veterans. When he was on, he was MVP-like. Your assessment shows you've probably read a blog or two and watched a you tube video. He was much more than your simple assessment.
