I was yelling at the person who was strapped in to stop messing with this guy's grip. I get he was trying to help, but don't mess with the other person's grip.

I can't believe he was able to hold on. But what was he supposed to be attached with? I didn't see another set of straps or anything.

There was a D-ring attached to his harness square in the middle of his back. He was wearing a harness, but it wasn't connected to anything.

Very lucky. Similar situation happened few years ago here in Canada where 28 year old women lost her life. What is the most sad part is that that flight was a gift from her boyfriend on their anniversary.
