What's new

The Al Jefferson hate

We could compare him to another Jazz pf: Carlos Boozer. Boozer took parts of the season off, and he was all about himself. He often stood still on defense and gave zero effort. He was also undersized.

Bad example isnt an example at all, dont compare to boozer because its not a compliment to say anyone you are better than boozer, it still doesnt prove you are good at all

Many people dislike Al because either he or Kanter has gotta go within the next couple of years.

I like Al, he is a top 10 center (which is top 1/3 NBA) starting center.

First he is not a center, he plays center because we dont have any real center,
Second, he is not top 10 at all

How anybody can keep honestly defending that fat, lazy Jefferson is beyond me. He is back to his MN self of gimmy gimmy gimmy. Dude is so freaking lazy on the boards it kills me. STOP with the crap about him getting better. I am sick of it. The POS has to go. Trade him to Houston for the last man on their bench. We will be a 1000 times better off. Sorry for the rant, just can't stand to watch his selfish lazy attitude anymore.

...so I take it, you feel he's overpaid, too???:D

i know he is a black hole on offense (but improving on the passing) and has his misgivings on defense but its as if the jazz have ready choices and trades on offer. name 5 centers you'd want to exchange him for not named howard, gasol and bynum

Al is a better defender than Boozer - the closest thing to Boozer defense was the occasional stripped ball in the paint. Though I think Al could be a much better defender - he's athletic enough and is large enough. I think a lot of people look at Amare the same way - they don't understand how such an athletic guy isn't a better defender.
It's partly because their respective coaches do not insist on defense regularly and often--and sit him down when he fails to do so. Utah has backups who can come in for a few minutes and hold their own when AJ has defensive flatulence. If Corbin had done more of that last night (instead of playing two tired starters together and two poor-offense youngins together almost exclusively), then I think that the Jazz would've won.

For all saying he is a black hole on offense, consider this...

Technically speaking....

He is the leading assist giver of all of our big men (slightly above Paul, and waaaay above kanter and favors (who on paper are much bigger black holes than big al))

Check out these Numbers for favors and kanter, yet they never get deemed black holes.

Favors
47.6% shooting, 0.3 asts, 1.4 turnovers, a/to=0.21

Kanter
46.3% shooting, 0.1 asts, 0.8 turnovers, a/to=0.12

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Starters
Paul millsap
52.3% shooting, 1.8 asts, 1.4 turnovers, a/to=1.28

Al Jefferson
47.8% shooting, 1.9 asts, 1.4 turnovers, a/to=1.35

Asts per 48mins
Al jef- 2.73
Paul - 2.73
Favors - 0.67
Kanter - 0.28

What Big Al/Boozer/Chris Bosh/Amare/Blake Griffin all know and what many of you people can never accept is you can't put up big offensive numbers if you're sitting on the bench with 3 fouls in the first quarter. And if you don't put up big numbers you don't get the 80 mil contract.

Almost all the rule changes in the last 25 years have revolved around benefitting the offensive player. Like it or not but for a long time now this league has been all about who can score more points - not who can play better defense. Defensive intensity gets you in foul trouble and you can't help your team if you're riding the pine.

As Craig implied - Malone was able to play with the same intensity both ways. But a player like Malone comes around once in a generation. In the meantime you can bitch and whine about Big Al all you want; but he's just like any other 4/5 in the league that gets paid to score points.

Why? He has. Saying he has improved does not mean we are saying he has solved his problems. He still has plenty of work to do on effort, passing and D. But he has gotten better.

and now the thread can end. Weezie speaks the truth here. repped.

....90% of these NBA clowns peak within 2 years of entering the league! They can never change what has already been entrenched into there game from years of school-yard ball and brain dead basketball cells. Al Jefferson has peaked. Look at Carmello Anthony! Even though he went to college and even won a championship with his school, once in the NBA he's reverted back to his school-yard days when chucking up shots was the only thing that registered in that pin-head of his! These hopper types just can't be coached! They are what they are!

Al Jefferson is not Karl Malone and never will be. I can live with that. I certainly wish Al was better, but he isn't, so I accept who he is.

Karl Malone can teach you proper exercises form.

You see that technique? That form? Them shoes? Just remember, beginner, you might not want to do these.

I am not saying he will figure it all out or become the player we want him to be. All I am saying is why not say he has improved. He has.

A kid making a F pushes it up to a D. Well he still sucks but it is an improvement.

Karl Malone is an exceptionally mentally tough character. I understand why you would take the easy road. Working for results definitely is not for everyone.

Results? Cross training doesn't provide results. That's why I got so bored of it. muscles don't grow just because you lift a 30 pound kettleball over and over.

But girls like you think that doing kickbacks with a pink dumbell is going to make them as big as Arnold...

Oh, I can assure you that cross-fit is not what Karl does for real.
And he doesn't use those dinky little dumbells either.
What I can't believe is that cross-fit trainers charge so much dang money per month and people actually pay it.

I guess if you think that pressing 100 lb dumbells for reps is lazy, then you must have some very good super supplements.

Wow, I didn't think you would start claiming you are better than Karl Malone, let alone stronger or better at training. Okay dude. Are you going to tell us Jerry Rice knows nothing about cardio and endurance next?
Maybe you can post some pictures to prove what a ripped stud you are.

Didnt you see the videos in the rep thread? Some of the funniest **** ive seen. This guy is a worse than a douche, he is the filthy remnants of a used douche from a tranny hooker I saw this afternoon begging for crack on charleston and lv blvd.

He has zero tone and a disproportionate body due to severely neglecting his lower body. He has absolutely no idea what he is speaking about.
