Pressure mounts on Biden over Bolsonaro's Florida stay after Brasilia riots
The United States has a Jair Bolsonaro problem.www.reuters.com
It's always the same garbage:
1. Play culture war games, find some other to demonize (usually blacks, Jews, and LGBTs). Whine about how feminine your people and culture are becoming and brag about a non-existent masculine great past that needs to be brought back.
2. Provide tax cut handouts to top donors and supporters.
3. Stack the courts with yes-men. Provide the clergy with red meat (usually money and access).
4. Have your propaganda gaslight the entire nation while demonizing real journalists. This helps you to control the narrative and keep opponents on the defensive.
5. Attempt to secure your own power through gerrymandering and voter suppression. If/When that fails, have your supporters attack your country's democracy.
At least Brazil's police arrested many of the supporters on the spot and hopefully justice will be served. I hope Bolsonaro is extracted from Florida and is held to account. Unlike our insurrectionist leader, who's the GOP's frontrunner in 2024.
