Like I mentioned months ago, someone like Gordon allows you to add an undersized defensive liability like Jimmer that can shoot lights out. Just having him to check the best 2 or three on the other team will decrease the open highway to the bucket has really exposed Favors and Kanter. It is difficult enough defending bigs one on one in the NBA without having to worry about a constant stream of guards and SF's driving the lane unimpeded. Forcing more jumpshots will result in more long rebounds which will also dramatically improve our transition offense that we used to be so good at. I think that was the real reason that Jerry liked to take away the short stuff.
