The year KOC ruined the Jazz

I like getting Diaw, hopefully we get someones draft pick also. I hope AK does really good this year and shows the league what he can do in a less structured offense.

trade has not even happen yet and who knows what else the jazz are going to get out of it. People need to stop stupid threads about the end of the world. Five threads on the jazz being doomed if they don't sign fes back and now this. This team has been together for a long time and did not win anything. Question would ak make a difference against the lakers. NOPE. That is who we need to find players to match up with. I am not a big fan of diaw but at the same time it's a change and i also got tired of ak getting hurt every year when playoffs start. Think ak would want to stay in denver as well when his contract is up? I doubt that as well.

To deny financials don't play any part of basketball is like sticking your head in the sand. Only a few teams, like the Yankees, Lakers and Blazers (and now Nets) have owners with extremely deep pockets. Sanders over Hayward is your personal opinion. We can't argue that because neither has played one minute of NBA basketball. You could very well be right. But I think we could all agree that Al Jefferson >>>> Sanders. KOC had been working on the Jefferson deal for over a year. I think he knew it was pretty close to being finalized when the draft took place. In fact, I think the only thing that held it up was that KOC was trying to move up and get Cousins.

So we already had a pretty good rotation at the 4/5, with Millsap, Jefferson and Okur (with Fesenko or someone else as a fill-in until Okur returns). Going into the draft, KOC knew the Matthews situation was unsettled, AK had a year left on his contract and Korver was probably going to ask for the MLE. which is way over what he's worth. So drafting a wing was a good choice. Now some would argue for George or Babbitt. Time will tell. In fact, there were probably 8-9 guys ranked pretty close from #7-#16.

As for AK, every year we keep hoping he returns to his 2004 form. And every year he plays great for 4-5 games and then gets his ankle, back or feelings hurt.

Is AK a better player than Diaw? Yes. Is AK worth keeping for 1 year for $20M? No. The deal as outlined saves $8M in salary, $8M in tax and maybe gets Utah in position for the revenue share from the league for another $4-5M. For the little you may lose, I say go ahead. In fact, I think we're going to see an AK-like performance from Evans. He'll play 10 mins and give us rebounds, blocks and hustle - something AK USED to give the Jazz.

Well said. +1

First the jazz drafted Elder Hayward, a guy with very limited lateral movement instead of Larry Sanders.

Now a trade of AK for Diaw. Bad, very bad. If this trade goes down the Jazz lose at least 5 more games than last year. Check the per stats between Boris and AK. Its not even close. That was before Diaw discovered french pastries and became the pillbury diawboy over the summer.

Say it with me people. Say No to Diaw.
We want Gerald Wallace if we are going to trade AK.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!! GERALD WALLACE FOR AK HAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHA HAAHHA AHAHAH!!!!! HAHAHAH AHAAHHHAAHH HHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! dumb ***
