re-watch the laker game. the jazz played about as well as they can possibly play and got run out of the gym. they will continue to have their moments against bad and mediocre teams, but they are not good.
Sadly, being not good isn't bad enough.
If we lose to all the playoff teams but beat the tankers then that likely just means we lose our pick and miss out on the playoffs

The Jazz were elite at losing to bad teams last year, which mostly involved sitting Lauri and Kessler in those games.

At a certain point if we are still sitting in the 10th seed I wonder if we try and almost give up on this season with the opening being really good next year. Without Kessler we basically have no shot of doing anything of value this year but we are still way better than expected without him so say we consolidate some assets we could add a Domontas Sabonis or preferably a really solid proven wing who plays defense (although I don’t have any names) we probably end up 9th or 10th this season but it actually sets us up better to be better and more competitive starting next year rather than banking on a rookie (we’ve seen how Cody and Taylor panned out)

It would give us a lineup next year of

Key // Collier // Walt
*New addition // Svi
Ace // Brice // Cody
Lauri // Taylor
Walker // Flip

That is a really solid lineup that can win a Ton of games and is young enough to keep getting so much better especially depending on who that addition is

Obviously we wouldn’t be able to keep all those players in a trade but I could see us trading collier and Walt who may have positive value with Nurk for filler salary and some picks for a solid wing

The key to losing is on defense and playing young guys predominantly with the bench unit. For example, playing Brice, Flip and Love together is going to give up a lot on defense, since they don't rotate well and Love isn't a paint presence.
