What's new

Trade question.

Agree with everything you said. Quick question though, what's the lowest draft spot Gilchrist/Miller could drop to in your opinion?

Gilchrist could go 7 - 11, imo
Miller about the same ..

I would take Gillie over Miller everyday of the week, though.

Would Jefferson or Millsap plus are current draft pick score us a top 3 pick in 2012?

I've said this a lot, so my apologies if I sound like a broken record. There is very little drop-off between picks 1-3 and 4-11, very little. Wait until after this season and I think there will be plenty of debate on who you take first between Barnes and Gilchrist, just as one example.

That may be true now, but a lot can change in a year. Who knows which freshmen will stand out or become stars.

If you watch this clip, pay attention to the block at about the 45sec mark. That guy should have just handed him the ball. I literally laughed out loud.

He reminds me of an enlarged Shawn Kemp. Accidentally deleted my post trying to edit, but read he is going back to high school and won't attend college til 2012?

Drummond will never play a game of college, imo. He'll stay in prep as a 5th year and enter next years draft. He has the skills, but he needs someone to kick his butt to get in better shape and not take plays off .. too many. REALLY watch Shabazz Muhammed .. he could be extremely special, extremely.

Ok but we could rip Kanter even more then for his lackadaisical high school play. Any idea why he is not on Givony's 2012 big board?

Ha! This is not homerism, but Kanter averaged almost 40pts and 20boards in high school. Those clips were of him when the games were out of reach. FWIW, I think Drummond has more upside than Kanter, he just needs better work ethic.

As for DX, I don't know .. nbadraft.net has him on there (I know) .. but I assure you Andre has no plans to go to college. He could reclassify right now and come into college with the '12 class, but won't .. and will jump straight to the NBA.

Wait, Kanter averaged 40 and 20? Holy crap! Even if that wasn't against the best competition, that's pretty incredible.

On a different note, can someone explain the situation with Drummond? He's going back for his 5th year of High School? Why not go to college? And if this was his fourth year of High School, why haven't I seen him associated with the 2011 graduating class? And f he, in fact, doesn't go to college will the rules allow him to enter the draft? I'm a little confused about this guy...

He transferred a couple years ago and stayed back a grade in the process. Therefore, he has played 4 years but has only finished his junior season. He's not listed because he isn't graduating 2011. He apparently has the grades, though, to graduate and COULD forego his senior year and head for college. Reports are that he intends to stay prep for his senior year and then enter the draft (age qualified) in '12.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Man, this draft really is shaping up to be something special.

It would be stupid for him to do that if they end up raising the age limit.

Why? If they raise the limit, he would then go to college and be drafted after his freshman year .. and would likely be the ONLY freshman drafted (at least highly) in the '13 draft. Where he plays this coming year (prep or college) makes no difference with regards to when he can get drafted.
