Trade Rumor: Westbrook for Harris and Millsap

I love Millsap and would hate to trade him but here's the thing. If we went to trade him for say a 1st rounder, we'd net something like the 10th pick. If we traded Westbrook for the same, we'd net something like the 3rd pick. In your typical drafts of course. Westbrook has far greater value. And he's the type of asset that could later be parlayed into Rondo or another such point guard. I'm not saying that it's a no brainer that we should do it but I would lean that way.

Westbrook as an asset is the only reason I'd trade for him. However, if he looks worse on the Jazz then he's no longer that asset and you've pissed away something you probably should've just kept in the process.

I thought the same is possible but it's very unlikely given his age (23), insane athleticism, and promise (8.2 assists last year) he's shown.

I'd take Ricky Rubio over Westbrook.

Jazz fans need to watch this kid. He's easily one of the top PGs in the league already.

Solid shooter, great setup guy, runs the offense, and gets the ball where it needs to go. He's averaging 8 assists for the Twolves.

If he played with some better players, he could easily average double digits his rookie year.

That's what we need. we need a player who averages about as many assists as points.

Frankly, in my opinion this supposed rumor is such a joke that I would bet my comment that I posted there won't even get allowed because I called out the writer. I am not aware of Utah giving up on the bigs, in fact its quite the opposite! As for Westbrook, I would not want to see him in a Jazz jersey unless it was a trade that was like Bell/Miles for Westbrook. I certainly would not give up Millsap in this kind of deal ever. Westbrook is a Garnett type player, a cancer to the team he is on. He is destructive to team chemistry, and to player morale. I highly doubt that anyone in the Jazz orginization would stand for the kind of behavior Westbrook shows over and over. He wants to be the superstar on the Thunder, and it seems he considers himself above even Durant. Lets put that in perspective. This deluded player thinks himself better than the scoring champ, and the face of their franchise. Anyone who would do this deal really needs their heads examined from the logic standpoint.

On top of that the grammar of that rumor post pretty much seems to either have come from some 12 year old kid posting on the web thinking he is cool, or from some out of country wannabe sports writer who has no grasp on the english language. Read it closely, there are a lot of lines in there that seem like the writer speaks english as a second or third language. In addition he cant even spell player names correctly. I mean look... "Thunder desperately needs another attacking option, and Jazz is hoping that they will find it in Paul Millsap. Jazz is also ready to send Devin Harris to fill the missing PG gap."

Seems to me that the Jazz are not hoping that the Thunder find an attacking option in Paul Millsap, especially since they are conference rivals to some extent. Nonetheless the improper use of "is" where it should be "are" tells me this is simply a total farce. On top of that this is even worse than the "Best Buy" rumor mill that we joke about here in Utah constantly. There is no credibility to this rumor whatsoever.

I don't get people some times. First people don't want anything to do with Rondo (this was several weeks ago), now they don't want anything to do with Westbrook. These are both elite point guards, far better than anything we have now. Even though Westbrook is not a 'pure' point guard, he still dished over 8 dimes a game last year--I don't see how this is 1/3 of the assists he should have, so he should have 24 assists per game?? That's not bad, coupled with 20+points, that's huge production. Milsap is a good, not great, starting PF, and a very good backup PF, but he's not remotely close to being elite.

I'd do this trade in a heartbeat.

we dont need an elite point guard
look at the champions of past years how many had elite point guards

If the Jazz had the chance to get LeBron James, I'm reasonably certain this board would be full of people absolutely opposed to the idea, worried about how it would upset chemistry, claiming that losing Milsap was too high a price, pointing out all of LeBron's flaws, etc.

Granted Westbrook is not LeBron, but he WAS voted to the 2nd Team All NBA last year. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, on the current Jazz roster is even close to sniffing the All NBA Team, whether it be the 6th, 5th, 4th, etc. team.

Fans are funny at times.

I dont want lebrick on this team.
dwight howard may be a different thing.

I still think D-Will for Westbrook makes an insane amount of sense for both teams.

I posted that somewhere when Westbrook had his freak-out. Deron is due for a freak-out so maybe....

I'm not sure what OKC would be willing to part with to make the salaries match.

At times he plays keep away from KD, and gets into shouting matches with possibly the best scorer in the league so he can be the man over KD. Does that not remind you of the same problems Marbury had with Kevin Garnett!

Marbury leaving Minny was supposed to be about $$$. I'm surprised that Westbrook would be in rumors involving Devin Harris and Paul Millsap. Westbrook is regarded as a better player than that.

The T'wolves waited three years for Rubio. He's becoming the face of their franchise.
