Trade

Aaron Afflalo has a PER of 12.5
Chris Anderson has a PER of 14.9

Millsap has a PER of 21.4 (9th for PFs)

Afflalo stifling defense and dead-eye shooting go so far as producing less than his matchup (-1.1 PER) and being a net negative when he's on the court (-3).
Chris Andersen's stifling defense and rebounding achieves a similar mark of less-than-mediocrity.

Millsap on the other hand outplays his matchup and the Jazz perform better when he's on the floor. His contribution is the complete relative inverse of those two, and we're not even adding in the contributions of Elson here. These are OBJECTIVE indicators, so I'll throw in two subjective facts (oxymoron?) that Millsap is the 2nd best player on the team and that he's the standard-bearer for what Jazz basketball is supposed to be about and one of two lead-by-example players on this team.

I didn't have the capability to do a fair statistical analysis until today and it backed up everything I already knew. This trade is so bad I couldn't just let it ride it's way into obscurity which is where it belongs. This proposed deal is pure crackpot garbage.

Since most of you all don't watch the NBA--actually, it's questionable if you even watch the Jazz--I thought I'd give you a few highlights of this 4th year pro. He's getting better every season.

Millsap, Chucker, and Raja aren't doing this anytime soon:

Now back to your recess blacktop game children.

You're really resorting to HIGHLIGHTS? Well then, without further adieu;

Aaron Afflalo and Chris Andersen aren't doing this anytime soon. (that's supposed to be said as mockingly as possible)

You completely left out all analysis of the 2 and 3 spots. Cute.

What, that it's inundated with mediocre role players like Afflalo? And that's all you got?

Speaking of cherry-picking, are we getting Afflalo for nothing in your proposal? If so, sign me up, maybe.

Like I said, if you don't like the trade then give us something else that takes the Jazz to the next level, or, accept a mediocre playoff appearance again.

Fixed. And how about Deron Williams for Raymond Felton and Ronny Turiaf?

You think people care about your opinion a little bit, doncha Sarah. All I read was

Didn't you have a supporting role in that film as yourself?

I think we should purposely tank the season and hope to draft Tim Duncan....oh wait that has already been done.

Carry on.

Considering that this kind of constitutes the strength of your argument, I'll consider this a white-flag.

A revision to my previous posting based on comments here

Now Houston gets less, Denver gets more. Works for the Jazz because they get a good two-way player in Lee and a great shooter with size in Gallinari. Also Curry's expiring to make $$ work.

Houston gets a Center in Fes, and a young prospect in Randolph that can play the 3 or 4.

New York gets Melo.

Denver gets AK (to play 3/4), Wilson Chandler (avg. 18pts/game), and Jordan Hill (athletic big).

I'd say it's at least fair.

Its a lot better than your first idea, that is for sure. I'd do it, but would the other teams? I don't think that New York is going to make an offer that good, they are in the driver's seat right now to land Melo'
