If he can prove to be a decent rotation player he could have some trade value with his insanely team friendly/flexible contract
I don't disagree with that, but I still fear that mindset about the whole "capture the Flagg" (nice name you coined) game.

What's better for a rookie's development, 10 mpg for the real team in a tiny role....or 30+ mpg in the GLeague in a super sized role? I think, for example, Mills might get ~10 mpg while Collier is in the G-League.

I'm not quite sure myself, probably depends on the player. I think I'd probably start the rookies in the G-League, and then move them to the real team once it's truly tank time.

I don't mind starting Svi, btw. Kind of a poor indicator on Hendricks....but Svi has been pretty good in very limited minutes the past couple of seasons. Not just as a shooter, but as a ball mover as well.

So proud! Our nat. team legend and former Lauri's team mate Petteri Koponen is coaching them. (He was once drafted, later offered contract to NBA but decided keep playing in a big role for euroleague teams)
I remember hoping the Jazz would trade for his rights. Guess it's best they didn't.

From what I've seen/heard about Svi, he's one of those guys that gets a little playing time and everyone starts thinking that "this guy's pretty good, maybe he needs to play more."

Then when he gets rotation minutes, you just see that there's nothing all that special there. Might as well play someone with more "upside" (younger or a plus wingspan).

But he's not bad at all; he won't be embarrassing if he's on the court.

Sounds like Jonas Jerebko.
