I don't know why everyone is so sure that Burke will win rookie of the year. He's gotta play a lot of minutes to do it. Nothing about Jazz history that suggests that will happen.

I'll be surprised if Trey even averages more than 25 min off the bench, let alone start this year.

Everyone thinks he will be starting. But if he does, yes, he is one of the most complete players coming out of the draft.

Well until something happens, he is literally the only point guard on the roster and the rumor mill about the Jazz picking up a free agent of any note has been mute.

Chris Dortch said that, who is he again? This is a casino making the odds, they wouldn't put out odds like that if they didn't think Burke was going to start.

Then again, not a lot of PGs off the board yet. I still bet we bring in a decent vet on a 1 year deal. I hope not, but I would be surprised.

Having Burke be the odds-on favorite to be ROY puts a little extra pressure on Ty to play the kid. I like it.

Is there a way to bet that it will not happen, because if so, fans that know this team and Corbin will be rich by the end of the year.

Even with us SCREAMING at Sloan for keeping Deron on the bench for the first half of the season, Williams still averaged 29 mins and put up 11/5. It's a different team and a different philosophy. Burke WILL average 28-30 mins and have a good chance at putting up a lot of points due to the absence of shooters on the team. I could see him as a 15/7 player this year. If he comes off the bench, he can get half those assists throwing up lobs to Evans and Gobert during garbage time.

I'd take the bet fo sho. Thats money in the bank. I bet the odds change though when we re-sign another point guard. Better get on it quick.

Hey Vermin. Go put down a hundy for me.

This was what I immediately thought of.

If Burke starts, then yes, I think he has a very good shot at winning ROY.

LET THE YOUTH MOVEMENT BEGIN!!!

Looks like bookmakers feel Burke is far and away the best candidate for rookie of the year. Granted this is not just based on player abilities, but the situation the player is in (like in Utah, where he can start and play big minutes), but when I look at this entire draft class, Burke seems as good as anyone in this draft. In just his second year he proved clearly the best player in the nation and made the finals in NCAA. If you think about it, let's say Jazz had #1 overall pick this year. Would they still draft Burke? I think the answer is likely yes.

LOL wow

I think the odds look about right.

Especially with what went down last night. Burke is going to be playing big minutes and starting. All doubt has been erased from my mind.

This. I was totally expecting us to blow cap-space on someone like Calderon. With what little money we have left, we won't be able to pick up a PG competent enough to get lots of minutes ahead of Burke.

Don't prove me wrong, TyCo.
