What's new

Trey Lulz

I don't mind what I see from Lyles tbh, pretty sure he's taking the shots Quinn wants, I think its encouraging he's shooting 3's so early on - He must be making them in practice..

In 7.8 minutes per game he's 4th on the team with 1 oreb per game, that's encouraging too...

Shots just aren't falling right nowthru 8 games of situational minutes... It's not like he's in rhythm or anything, he comes in for a quick cup of tea to close out the 1st quarter, he's just getting his feet wet.

Bosh ate him up with those pump-fakes last night, he looked like a rookie - what did you expect out of that match-up though??

Bookers shot isn't falling either thats of much greater concern.. He was paid for instant returns... that's not how drafting 19 year olds works, especially not bigs..

Good news here is that you say so. Whew.

Trey's play isn't nearly as concerning to me as Booker's. Which doesn't seem to be a major concern here on Jazzfanz.. I don't get that logic at-all.. Gotta remember plenty of blow-hards in the 2015 draftee's thread spent plenty of time ragging on Trey, and still want to be right about it.

If Booker gives us one good year and one not so good year, That'd mean Lindsey could've gotten more bang for the buck --- I repped the signing when it happened. thing is I always liked AMinu better, and Aminu would be perfect here in Utah. He could've been the back-up PF easily, and provided a different look vs perimeter players going off..

From July 2014 (in a post about what to do after the Hayward saga)
Of the available FA's id look at taking fliers on; (in no order)

Trevor Ariza, Al Farouq Aminu, Michael Beasley, Alan Anderson, Anthony Morrow, Kent Bazemore, James Anderson, Francisco Garcia, Jerryd Bayless, Brian Roberts, Shelvin Mack(R), Ed Davis, Andray Blatche, Jordan Hill, Mike Scott, Trevor Booker, Ekpe Udoh, Jeremy Tyler and of course, Ante Tomic.

If Lyles was buried on the bench there'd be nothing to complain about.. OP is really on some "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to" type ****..

Way, way too early. And "he lost us the game"? Come on...

Yes he did, this was a close game. All the other games he played spot minutes and it's effects were minimal. But last night he got some real burn and Bosh just destroyed him.

I'm gonna keep bringing up Aminu too. Y'all laughed at me when I said he could do the things the Aaron Gordon supporters were hoping for..

Maybe 3 people did. I (along with others) said good things about him, just like we voiced our agreement in wanting Harkless (who hasn't looked like much).

Just wanna say it's totally unfair, at this point, to compare Booker to Aminu. It's a loaded, lopsided, unrealistic argument.

It is fair however to say Aminu was there for the taking, and considerably undervalued. He was actually a FA the last 3 summers.. Kinda been here saying it each and every summer.. surely I wasn't the only one.. there was a pretty obvious argument to be made for his skill-set.. his 'potential' was still in question though(by some), despite being 23..

I even said give him mid-level money for 4 years when he clearly wasn't going to get paid like that.. I'd like to think Aminu was one of my better calls here.

Aminu and Aar Gordon are kinda redundant though, and there's some here who would have led you to believe, it was unfortunate that the Magic took Gordon, and let Exum fall.. That's crazy, this defense is going to be the best in the league for a long time with Exum at the helm.

Other GM's are spotting good low-cost options, Tyler Johnson was a driving force behind the loss last night. It's just one of those woulda, coulda, shoulda scenarios that goes unsaid, I really only like talking about that typa **** when it relates to sports.

Any Aaron Gordon v Aminu argument is also totally unfair at this point too. But to say Aminu couldn't have provided the things the Aar-Gordon brigade had hoped for, would be candidly false.

Who knows if that double-double for Harkless vs the Jazz the other night was a sign of things to come, they got him for a 2nd round pick though, that was a total steal. I like his chances he's bouncy and shows some good instincts defensively, nearly 6'9". he's shooting it well so far this season from 3 and is still just 22. I'm a ruthless *******, I look at restricted contracts like that and think "can he be locked in for years for way under his pay grade??"

I didn't like the pick, and the early results are suspicious. But he is young, and a Jazzman so I want him to succede.

Yeah, I think most people where down with Aminu, I wasn't championing him, but I was calling for a big 3 who could play 4 and be a physical defender.

Really, other than getting pump faked, he looked good on defense with Favors. He closed out pretty well, boxed out (for the most part), and got rebounds.
