If the GOP does this it just gives the next Dem administration carte blanche to take full advantage. So the GOP either needs to do this with the intention of ending our "constitutional republic" or understand they just gave the other party every excuse to go nuts and place all the blame on the GOP.

That's the problem. If the country is going to be screwed, I want it screwed in the direction of the right. Not the left.

I understand, but that is also not the correct way at all. I’m worried about it heading that way. The abuse of power to make the Democrats submit is not how we should be leading. This last proposal with the 1 year credit for Obamacare by the democrats should be passed and both come together to fix it. Proving you have the biggest dick and making them submit is what I was worried the left will do and they will do it 10x worse in a few short years. Just a terrible time to for the American people right now.

Focus on the economy only! Economy only should be the priority. Help any way you can.

And get the damn government reopened. All the wrong people are hurt by a government shutdown.

Republicans however do not want health care to be affordable. Darn it.
 
Btw, remember when DOGE and trumpers were freaking out about all the money spent on USAID?
Well the total budget last year was 45 billion for USAID.
Huge deal. Wasteful bigly.
But here Argentina, have 40 billion. No problem with that.

Dudes I work with just kept repeating that there are 53 Republicans in the senate and it takes 60 votes, so...

And that was pretty much the point. All 53 Republicans voted for the Republican proposal, and all the Democrats voted against it. Point proven. Case closed.

Oh, that meant this was completely the Democrats fault, just in case that was not at all clear since the facts presented don't make or not make that case at all.

It's like if I said "2+3=5, but if you don't have the 2, then you don't have the 5, see what I'm saying?"

trump was in front of the cameras with the kid talking about how amazing the story was (which is true. It was an amazing story). trump was just acting all excited and happy about it. Then someone told him that the poor kids entire family was killed by the tornado. Now, after hearing that a normal human would be saddened and show sympathy and sorrow. Not trump though. He was still giddy and simply responded by talking about how amazing it was that the boy got taken by the tornado yet was still ok.

I heard that there is likely a deal getting done to open the government.
I guess the Democrats will be able to vote in December to extend the expiring ACA subsidies or something.

The deal is based on a "promise" to vote on the ACA. It won't pass, so this is giving up the ACA and watching tens of millions lose health care coverage. That means their primary source of health care will be in the form of emergency room visits, which is more expensive for all of us than what is going on now.
