Trump Dictatorship and All Things Politics

Holy hell trump is the worst: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-wants-nations-pay-1-215228202.html

The Trump administration is asking countries that want a permanent spot on his new Board of Peace to contribute at least $1 billion.

According to a draft charter for the proposed group, President Donald Trump would serve as its inaugural chairman and would decide on who is invited to be members. Decisions would be taken by a majority, with each member state present getting one vote, but all would be subject to the chairman’s (trumps) approval.

Trump would also be responsible for approving the group’s official seal, the document says.

Trump has invited a number of world leaders, including Argentina’s Javier Milei and Canada’s Mark Carney, to be part of a Board of Peace for Gaza, which would be formed under the broader umbrella of his new Board of Peace.

That plan attracted swift criticism from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said the details hadn’t been coordinated with his country.

Several European nations have been invited to join the peace board, according to people familiar with the matter. The draft appears to suggest Trump himself would control the money, something that would be considered unacceptable to most countries who could have potentially joined the board, said the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss private matters.

The Board of Peace would convene voting meetings at least annually and “at such additional times and locations as the Chairman deems appropriate,” the draft charter says. The agenda would be subject to approval by the chairman.

Trump would also have the power to remove a member, subject to a veto by a two-thirds majority of member states. “The Chairman shall at all times designate a successor for the role of Chairman,” the charter says.

A Peace Board? He just told the Ambassador from Denmark that he’s going to take Greenland because he didn’t get the Nobel Peace Prize!

I did my taxes today. I got a decent amount more than last year but not as much as I was expecting with the extra child tax credit, bigger standard deduction, and especially the no tax on overtime.

I thought the no tax on overtime was going to have a much bigger effect than it did.
I made about $18,000 in overtime last year but only like $6200 qualifies for the no tax deal and then of that $6200 of course I only get refunded on a percentage of that.

After all the tax breaks from the big beautiful billionaire benefitting bill I ended up getting about $1000 more this year. Last year my refund was about $1000 and this year it's about $2000.

$1000 extra is nice until you factor in that the average household paid like $2200 in tariff tax for the 2025 year.

So a net loss of about $1000 all said and done. Pretty disappointing.

The rich are going to have substantial tax savings at least. Thank God the billionaires are finally catching a break in life for once and might just be ok. Phew.

With any luck and people getting out to vote this could be our next President.

Personally I'm a sucker for Presidential candidates who have military service. I've voted for all of them I could since I've been able to vote. Dole over Clinton, Kerry over Bush Jr., McCain over Obama. It is something that has resonated with me in the way they communicate and the way they express their devotion to the U.S..

If given the option I can't imagine voting for anyone over Buttigieg.
