I'm not a huge fan of Corbin, but when some nobody like the Turkish NT coach talks smack about him it's hard to take seriously.

Enes CanTear You Apart , while you bringing Tanjevic's interview you gotta also tell how he is. He has been coeaching in the Europe for 40 years and is one of the respectable masters. So if he says something, you gotta regard all facts and think about it. The interesting part for me is about Kanter position. He was the coach of Enes when Kanter was 16 so he knows kanter more than anyone in the world. He says Kanter's gotta work for being better forward and play center when it is needed. And he trusts his shooting ability so much. Really interesting.

He may have been good long ago, but I saw EuroBasket 2011 and Turkey was one of the worst offensive teams I've ever seen in my life. It was dribble the ball up the court, chuck, pray one of their players got a rebound, and go back on defense. Apparently that's what 40 years of experience gets you.

EDIT: I guess he wasn't the coach that year. Perhaps he should go back and coach his own team instead of bagging on a league he knows jack about.

Well, yea Tanjevic exagerated a lil bit but still he is right at certain points especially coaches in the NBA. Even Popovich admited that NBA coaches gotta learn lots of details and tricks from European coaches. It is cause NBA depends on super stars so coach does not need to be so creative versus european coaches. So when you compare Ivkovic, Tanjevic, Pini Gershon, obradovic with Corbin, Negro, Brooks, Mike Brown yea they can be all weak and stupid. And i do not believe in Corbin either. He's not either a good tactic guy or creative, charismatic leader for the players.

You don't know heck about Tanjevic yet you reply. Talk about Corbin instead.

I think Ty can give some lessons to Bogdan Tanjevic about style, look and appearance during the games. Dude has some really nice suits.

Since when has that ever been a rule? The Turkey NT coach talked about a bunch of people he knows nothing about. Perhaps he should stick to talking about he knows as well eh?

yea :) Corbin is a nice man but i do not like his style either. Why he always wears as bridegroom with old fashioned cravats?

I actually thinks he looks pretty good. Just different strokes for different folks is all that is.

Did I ever say that was a rule? He seems to have watched Enes if not Jazz and NBA and yes he should stick to talking about things he knows but I am pretty sure he knows enough as a basketball coach.

People who know more about this coach than I are stating he epitomizes what's wrong with Eurobasketball, an upholder of the "chuck and duck" offensive scheme. Some compare him negatively with Jeff van Gundy, a terrible offensive coach, but a decent defensive coach.

I am sure he does know about coaching but does he know all the NBS coaches he called stupid? I seriously doubt it. His talking about them is as informed as us talking about him. That is my point.

when tanjevic (or nearly any national team coach other than spain and the USA) is lucky, he has maybe 3-5 NBA-calber guys on his roster.

when an NBA coach has a HORRIBLE team, he still has 10-12 NBA-calber guys on his roster.

so it's easy to see how this guy could believe that kanter is a basketball god and must just be used incorrectly here in the USA. we've heard similar things from the guys who coached AK, giri, lopez, memo... the reality is that when your teammates are among the best 400 ballers in the world, you kind of have to earn the respect.

(and remember, i have historically supported all 4 of those guys i just mentioned... it's just the way it is. giri was top dog with the croatian team, and here, he was a middle of the pack guy and therefore had the burden of proof to show why he belonged on the floor more than others at his position.)

I doubt he knows all the coaches too but I think Tanjevic knows enough about NBA to comment on anything related to NBA. While it's not right to include almost all NBA coaches he does have right points. I know that Tanjevic is harsh but this article is seems to be made up anyway.

Turkish-to-English translation: I've never watched Corbin coach or seen a single game of Kanter in the NBA, but Corbin sucks & I'm a God trapped inside a Turkish body.
