China's national team fix is so easy. Start sending these young guys to US colleges. Put the burden of their development on Coach K, Mark Few, Cal, etc. That's the only way they are going to get better and stop looking so intimidated in International play. You can't just send them to the no defense CBA when they are 17 or 18, expecting them to develop. They don't have the players or coaches to challenge them. They need to play against more non-Chinese guys at that age.
With all the back and forth, we should understand that this guy getting nitpicked played on an awful team and managed;
4th leading scorer in the league
5th leading rebounder in the league
Shot 33.3% from 3
1.4 blks
The Chinese government would never let these guys go though... they're too scared they'd never come back to China.
Haha....could be. They sure have a hard time parting ways with their basketball factory chosen ones......even to the NBA. Plus, how you going to convince a Chinese kid that could make 100,000's of dollars/yr in the CBA at 17 or 18....whose parents were likely farmers or factory workers making jack squat growing up.....to throw that away for college? Most Chinese schools mandate English now though....so all you would really have to do is up the age range of the CBA to 20-22....bam....100's of Chinese basketball players forced into US colleges if they wish to keep playing basketball. I bet you could turn the whole thing around in a decade just by feeding them to US schools like that. At least enough to stop losing to the Nigeria/South Koreas of the world.
So he's mentally lazy.
A whiner.
A chucker.
Has a bad attitude.
And is the only player in the league top 5 in both Pts and Rbs.
ThisWe're not saying he's talented, it's actually the opposite, he is so talented, and yet there's so much untapped potential there it would be a real shame if he doesn't fulfil those potential because of mental reasons, because physically it's all there.
