Last season I was convinced they were going to destroy us and they did. This season I believe it's going to 7 games.
Thank god for the Blazers deciding they wanted to go against a rolling Utah team over a struggling OKC squad that has a ton of injury questions. Not only do we get a favourable 1st round matchup but the Jazz get to lose to a much more entertaining team to watch in the 2nd round and the FO gets a real idea of where the team is at/who to keep and who to let go vs losing in the 1st round to Harden ISOs.
They really put game 1 during the Game of Thrones premiere.
Why does the world hate us lately
Is there a silver lining for this r1 matchup?
This is why losses to Lakers a couple nights ago and losses Hawks and earlier in the season Mavs by over 40 point bite....I know its just one game right?
Just have to play it a game at a time and keep focused
It was the best of times...
Some things I’ll be looking for in this series:
Getting Ingles going, he didn’t play well v them last year. We need the Ingles that took Pushoff P to the woodshed.
Keeping Harden off the FT line. We need a 6 or less per game average.
Destroying CPs 10-15 jumper. Not sure who would be best here. ONeale? Mitchell? Sefolosha?
Stopping the 3s by Gordon, Rivers and Green. We are the NBAs best team for fewest 3s allowed per game.
The tears on Clutchfans after the Jazz win.Is there a silver lining for this r1 matchup?
-Against Portland a win is the only acceptable outcome, more leeway here.Is there a silver lining for this r1 matchup?
Here is the upside: We ended the Yao/McGrady Rockets, We ended Lob City, and now we have the chance to end Phi Floppa Jamma. If Houston doesn't beat us, that whole franchise is in shambles. That is a worthy goal.
Have we tried repetitively feeding Favors inside with Tucker on him? Feed Favors inside and have Donovan go at Capela. Good way to get him in foul trouble (if they'll call them).I also thought we ended OKC but PG didn't cooperate. I know it is just a coach... but D'Antoni is potentially not going to be able to lead the team due to his health issues (sucks wouldn't wish it on anyone).
These guys are much more vulnerable this year. Harden has had a sketchy playoff past when things got tough... If we can make it tough these guys have some melt down potential.
I do think we start with Favs and Rudy... don't bend completely to their game unless we really feel we have to. Favs is a gamer and has been so good this year... believe in him.
