I certainly wouldn't trade Keyonte for Flemming.Keyonte... or Sexton or Collins... but I kind of don't believe we do it.
Ya I have also soured a bit as time has passed (and I was a bit sour in the first place)After sleeping on it, I like this pick less and less. Doesn't have much to do with Clayton as it does our current position. Just a weird fit here.
First trade up into the 40s like what the Lakers did. Then go for the pick in the 30s with our pick swap right from Wolves/Cavs. Doesn't the Wolves own that 31st pick(which originally belong to us but Ainge needlessly gave it away in that infamous Conley deal)? We can just give back Wolves pick swap right in 2028 plus our remaining second round pick if they don't feel so strongly about Fleming. We likely need to get to 31-33. Please suggest how we do that for reasonable value. TIA
Cody and Collier are nothing alike and play completely different positions/rolesSo you’re a fan but you still would have taken Traore or Kas. It’s like the FO wants to look at these guys in a vacuum without any consideration for what we already have. Sexton has to be on the trade block for sure at this point I imagine which means in the short term we’re still moving backwards. And if Cody takes his quantum leap where does that leave Isaiah? Collier had way too good of a season last year to be marginalized before he was even given a chance.
i think it's okay to hope for decent defense. probably can't really be above average due to his lack of length, but he's strong and smart and if he gives effort on that end and moves his feet, he can be solid. What's the story on Clayton's defense? He seems reasonably athletic and if he's a high energy guy (which seems likely) he could be an an average defender, right? Or are his size/length limitations just too much to expect him to be better than terrible on the defensive end?
Especially considering his tournament play, he kind of reminds me a little bit of Kemba Walker - who Danny Ainge gave a massive contract to after Kyrie Irving left. WCJ shot a LOT better on higher volume from 3, but Kemba got to the line about twice as much. Still think it could be a reasonable comp.I'm liking the Payton Pritchard comp more but he does have at least a flare of Dame / Steph in his game. And to be clear, I do think he's a better player than Pritchard was coming out. Better shooter and a twitcher / more explosive athlete.
The size / length is an issue. He may get murdered by bigger guards defensively and / or struggle finishing at the rim. But his shooting, "shot-making," and ability to create space and get shots off are special.
Sir, this is Jazz Fanz. We give up on players 7 minutes into their first summer league gameI've come down off of my Key-high, but I'm still pretty far on the optimistic side. And, in general, I don't believe in giving up on guys like him before their 3rd or 4th season. He wouldn't be untouchable if I were running things, but I definitely wouldn't be pursuing some kind of lateral move or swapping him for a pick in the back half of the 1st round.
They knew exactly who they wanted. Why risk losing their guy for a few seconds?traded up when he and Kas might be there at 21 lol. Wild trade up honestly
