Utes 2011 Football Discussion

That's what makes it fun, for hell sakes.

Fine, leave the bowl game out, you sissy. You realize that I have the same disadvantage as you re: the unknown team, right?
Okay, I'll bet if we leave the bowl out. How much? And no spreads, right? Just the Utes straight up in the rest of the regular season games, right?

I'll tell you what. Let's put that $25 back up for grabs. I'll bet Utah doesn't go unbeaten from here out. If they win every game, I'll pay up. Utah loses one of them, you pay me. Deal?

We're not talking about the bowl game, right? Just regular season games?
That's exactly what I had in mind. Straight up. No spreads (there's no way to know them).

They still got their markets. I'm guessing most in that conference didn't have the same expectations on the football field for Colorado and Utah as maybe their own fan bases did. It certainly would be an added bonus if those teams don't end up crowding the cellar alongside all those other bad teams in that conference eventually though.
True. I remember reading something about not many folks in the know being surprised about the Utes falling on their faces.

Hey now what you guys still doin' around here, run out of punters to cheap shot?

I'm pretty sure there needs to be more BYU posters in a Ute thread, and the opposite is also true.
One of the laws of nature, up there with gravity.

By the way, why is roughing up a punter any different than another player?
Are they still football players? Maybe he should have run right off the field after the punt so it couldn't happen.
And don't go all holier than thou pretending the Ute players have never deserved an unnecessary roughness for roughing up some sissy football player, Cougars are supposed to have a monopoly on that right?

I actually love opposing fans posting in each other's threads as long as they actually have something to say. The quick little jabs and one-liners have been going on grew tired and silly long ago and are probably only appreciated by the poster(s) who's making them.

I agree that the only ones that appreciate the one liners are the ones that post them.
But then again, everything we post is for our own entertainment isn't it?

I say Go Utes, and I hope you get the first of many Pac 12 wins soon... I also say lots of other things because it's fun to trash talk.

I appreciate all of Conan's one-liners, jabs, and trash talk. I used to like Duck's, until he became a blithering idiot. I like mine. I like JM12's occasionally as well.

People who complain about trash-talk are pretty much giving in to the TTers, which is a win for them. Stop bitching and we stop doing it. Simple, really -- but thank goodness none of us can stop.

I don't like the trash talk in and of itself. It's the responses you get that are the best. Knowing it got under the skin of your enemy and they couldn't resist replying. That means you have ninja mind powers over them. That's good stuff.

Does admitting to being a shameless troll earn an infraction? Regardless, your admission is appreciated.

I don't mind the BYU trash talkers in here. Utah is having a rough go of it this season. It's been difficult to watch. But no need to slam the panic button.

I am consoled mostly by the ironic comedy of the Utes being called to the carpet by fans of a team they absolutely annihilated.

Then again, Utah doesn't have a paper championship to hang their hats on.

I actually have no clue what happened on the play and only heard about it on the radio and that the ISU coach didn't care for the hit but that the Y player later apologized. I only brought it up in passing as a joke and since I didn't see it posted anywhere else and to be honest having a mild curiosity to see it for myself, to see if it was as bad as the radio/ISU coach implied. If I was truly pretending I cared or wanted to see if it would rile them up I would've included the illegal helmet to helmet hit on Christopher and weaved it back to Bronco seeing nothing wrong with that hit and a developing pattern.
