What's new

We've Seen This Movie Before

Uhh, my Knicks have won TWO championships.
How many have the Jazz won?
Oh, wait a minute. We can't even answer that because ZERO is not even a real number.

2 > 0

ONE!

How much did they win in your life time? Oh yeah how many did we stop your husband Marshmallow from winning? But let's not include tonight you turd.

"He and his team are still going strong."

Yup. Hay is going really strong. 2 points and one PF in game 1. Nothing since. David Stockton has actually outscored him this year. So you actually think that a person and team are the same thing! Got it. I'll bet GH knows his season ended in October.

Pretty sure two of our posters are responsible for 95% of the alts.

Folks, it's over.

Twenty-five point lead in the 3rd to close out the series...and you blow it! I've played sports, I watch sports, I know sports. It is over. Done. Utah Jazz can not, will not overcome that choke.

We've seen the movie before. Most famous example: Boston Red Sox 1986...Bill Buckner, through the legs. After that you just knew they were going to drop the series. You choke big time, you lose. There is no overcoming it.

I am wearing my Hayward t-shirt today because I won't have a chance to wear it until October. The Jazz are done.

(Ironic, his season lasted longer than yours.)

Pretty weak troll attempt, bro. Hayward's season this year barely lasted 5 minutes. Also, lots of teams get complacent after 3 straight wins in a series and then come back the next game and take care of business. It happened last year in the Finals where the Cavs got a game on the Warriors. It happened in the ECF, when the Cavs won by close to 50 points and then sleep-walked through the next game against the Celtics.

The Jazz blew OKC out in Game 3, again in Game 4, and were up big in Game 5. Who wouldn't let up a bit in that scenario. If the Jazz are sharp, they should win this.

IDK if anyone has pointed this out, but the irony of his name is hilarious since he is the Jazz's best friend right now.

Lol we have beat the breaks off them since game 1. If it weren't for the quarter of the decade we sit around doing nothing tonight, not watching jazz b-ball.

That guy teenie peepie or whatever.
You mean Archie? Well, I'll give you this, Siro, I had one other username on the site that I retired some years back and that was write4u. I have never tried to deceive anyone about my intentions or opinions. You won't find a more honest poster on here than me.

Playoff games are largely independent events. Past performance doesn't necessarily indicate future performance, otherwise how to explain series that go multiple games. After game 4, there was some rumbling in the Twitter/Blog-O-Sphere that the Thunder were dispirited and defeated. Now the rumbling is going in the opposite direction. What does it mean? Not much, it turns out.

On a semi-related topic, I hope I never reach the point in life where I feel compelled to go on other team's discussion boards (and teams with which my team has no rivalry and which are entirely tangential to my fandom) and troll. I mean, who the hell does that? That's the fandom equivalent of moving back into your parents' basement at 30+ years old.

I think the people who use alts to troll have some mental issues. They're like the kids in school who like to give the teacher a hard time and think it's funny. It's really very nasty behavior and far worse than people using profanity, and something I think the mods ought to take action to stop.

Uhh, I see you didn't notice that after that monumentally embarrassing choke job on Wednesday night (up 25 in the 3rd quarter of a close out game...AND YOU LOSE!), I did not come here to rub salt in your wounds. I ain't that type of dope.

I am here because I actually like the Jazz, numbnuts. I spent good money on a Gordon Hayward t-shirt. I wear it. You know how many people in New York wear Utah Jazz t-shirts? One. Me.

Now stroll on. Your stupid stereotypes of people on the internet is childish and idiotic.

Let's get back to the Jazz season ending because of Melo. I'm on the edge of my seat.

Uhh, I guess you haven't noticed but the Jazz season ended Wednesday night and Melo was the key.
His line for the night:

5 REBOUNDS
0 ASSISTS
7 POINTS
25 MINUTES

That low of 25 minutes was the key. And if you don't understand why, I'll use the words of the great American Winston Churchill to explain why:
"They also serve who only sit and wait."

The great American Winston Churchill knows more about basketball than you do...and he never even saw a basketball game!

You supposedly "know sports" yet you can't see that the Jazz have clearly been the better team all series? Better defensively, better offensively, controlling the glass, getting more assists, have better roster balance.

The Jazz are winning tonight. See ya after the game.

A decent trolljob, but I have some criticism. This thread should have been made right after Wednesday night's loss. With two days until next game, this thread would have reached 10+ pages.

Now you won't get to enjoy your work for more than a few hours.

Melo the jazz killer as a knick? Must feel good that it was the regular season man? Don't you have anything better to do with your life than to come here? Do you have some friends that are Knicks fan? Perhaps you can catch a Knicks playoff game this year? Oh crap they weren't good enough to make it again? Perhaps invite them over for tonight's game? But tell them to bring the tissue boxes for you and a tub of ice cream to help with your Melo depression when he exits tonight.

Well, I think I can end this discussion: Win or lose, it will be a positive for the Jazz, for their championship hopes are in the future.

For OKC, if they lose, it will be over for their franchise, at least in the foreseeable future, for they will be faced with a rebuild. The chemistry of the three stars hasn't been that good, and Carmelo looks about done -- you can see it in his face; he doesn't look like he has that desire any longer, to work so that he can maintain the level of his play.

Losing will provide the Jazz motivation for their future championship. Either way, it's a great experience in preparation for the years ahead when they challenge for the NBA championship.
