What is Wrong with Donovan?

He seems to have lost confidence since Conley came back into the starting lineup. Perhaps it is because he is unsure of his role because of Mike. It seems to be the same for Jingles. Note that Quin had Joe running the point and took Mike out down the stretch and we still were f'g up. As I said awhile back, Mike is a huge chemistry problem.

I think he’s seeing the ball less and needs to adjust to that and moving back to sg. Also, as a pg he was playing against smaller, lesser defenders, now being guarded by longer quicker better defenders. I have nothing against Conley, but I was apposed to trading for him as I wanted DM as our pg. overall he’s a much better player as a pg than SG. the jazz lost something when he moved back to sg.

Could be hurt. Took that weird bump on his hip a few games ago. Other than that he's just in a slump on both ends.

I think... sometimes... maybe... you go through minifunks. It happens. Sometimes losing like this compounds problems... like you try to do too much or takeover to get your team a win. Or it just wears on you... he will be fine.

He’s not that great is the problem imo. He’ll never be a top 10-12 player. His perimeter game is average. His dribble penetration is okay to solid but he doesn’t get to the rim and isn’t really a threat to which makes having to double him not a thing. He’s an average passer. How many elite non point guards don’t get to the rim? Because doing that draws double teams and opens more **** up for teammates, allows for easy points at that line, gets opponents into foul trouble which in turn gets those players to loosen up their defensive efforts...not having a player get to the line frequently is an issue. I never see him doing that. And his TS% is subpar.

I mean this is his third year... he’s steadily improving... and honestly I think he’s a pg and should be the smallest guy in the floor for his team most nights. I think he’s more impactful when he’s not at a height length disadvantage. He could certainly be a top 10-12 player someday.
