What to do about Evans and Burks?

Here is my answer: if the two are going to be receiving little to no playing time, shouldn't we assign them to the D-League for the time being to get them more minutes and time to develop? It doesn't seem like it would hurt too much. We can call them back up whenever we want.

? Burks is providing valuable minutes. Why send him to the D-League?

Why send Evans to the D-League? It isn't going to help him and he is nice to have if someone gets in foul trouble.

Yes for Evans.

No for Burks.

Burks has a definite future here, not so sure about Evans. Cj only had 8 minutes last night and sat the entire second half and Burks got all of Cj's minutes. 13 minutes a knight in the NBA is more valuable then 30 minutes a night in the D-League in my opinion. Evans gets mainly DNP's.

In my opinion I'd like to see Evans play some D-League ball and see if he could turn himself into an athletic defensive slashing finishing sf, kinda like Brewer at sg. If he is going to have any kind of future in the NBA it's at sf. If he stays at pf he is a 5 minute a game player at best. That's not much of a future if you ask me.

I do see what your saying though.

DLeague didn't help Morris Almond any, why would it help Burks? (P.S. I looked up Mo Almond recently, he shooting like 57% FG and 45% 3PT and getting 22 ppg in the DLeague.)

Yes. I don't think the D-League has ever really helped anyone out. It's a place you can send really raw rookies who are getting absolutely no playing time, or a place you can send players you don't want to deal with.

Burks have a role. Evans has a role (even though his is really small and not consistent).

Kevin McHale said he thinks that some of the big guys never really reach their potential because they don't get a chance to dominate the game (Tim Duncan got 4 years in college, maybe that helped him out.) So maybe they would benefit from the DLeague.

But it should be noted that McHale said that after he inherited Hasheem Thabeet. Also, I didn't see much improvement in Koufus or Fesenko after they went to the DLeague.

If Evans is playing SF in the D-league I can see some advantage in sending him. He could work on perimeter defense and other guard skills. But there is a dearth of athletic bigs in the D-league. Any D-league coach is want to win games by putting Jeremy at the 4.

Burks belongs in the NBA.
