What's new

Which player under contract for next year already plans on leaving after this season is over?

I would think Okur too, except for the comment about this being a season that has not lived up to expectations. What expectations for Okur? That he'd be back? I think that while everyone wanted that I don't think anyone felt comfortable enough to expect it - given the seriousness of his injury.

It's possible it's Okur, but it's more likely Raja.

It could be Weezie. I hope it isn't - I really love Weezie.

he didn't say it was a player, so i think it's Corbin. he is under contract for next season but can be fired.

Maybe not in the same sentence, but the paragraph before that was talking about players.

I doubt the front office had much, if any, expectation for Corbin.

I highly doubt the person in question is anyone other than Raja, CJ or Memo. Smart money would put it on Raja.

I think we can rule memo out. With memo injured, I don't think we had a lot of expectations for him going into the season aside from, "please get better." There are three guys left on the team that I would say fall into the catagory of missed expectations. Bell, CJ, and Jefferson.

While Jefferson has not lived up to expectations defensively (although he is an undersized center. When are we gonna learn to play people at their true positions?) he has lived up to expectations on the offensive end. After Sloan quiting and the D-Will trade, Jefferson was the only guy who showed heart.

I don't think CJ would be able to recognize the fact that his time here is up, even if it was.

Bell is smart enough and has played for enough teams to know the score. I am sure his house is already packed up and the moving truck on it's way.

Bell has to be the fly in the ointment. I'd be fine with him for 15 min. a game, as long as he's not starting or finishing. This has already been screwing us up, as it seems to me Corbin feels he has to let him finish games to make up for not starting. I believe we win that last Houston game with AK at the 3 and CJ at the 2 in the 4th quarter.

Jefferson, Harris, Memo, or Bell.
None of the others would be willing or ready to drop their contract and bolt.
The order of likelihood for me is Bell, Harris, AJ, then Memo.

I'm almost 100% it's Raja Bell. I thought I heard something about Bell and Corbin getting into it a little bit the last game.. something like that. If it's not Bell, it's Miles. It'd really surprise me if it was anyone else. Millsap, for some reason, wouldn't surprise me if he up and left, either.

I don't get why 6'10" is undersized. Hell, Moses Malone, one of the great centers in NBA history, was 'only' 6'10". Kendrick Perkins is listed at 6'10," and he's a very serviceable center. Wes Unseld was only 6'7" and he's a hall of famer for heaven's sake. These are only a few examples that spring immediately to mind. There are, I'm certain, others. 6'10" is not too small to play center and to play it well. Can we please put this argument to rest?

THIS!

Dude is 6'10.. not 6'8 or 6'7! Hell, Chuck Hayes is somewhere in that range and he's a pretty darn good defensive center. The only thing holding down Al is himself when he doesn't play good defense. If he'd put the same amount of heart and dedication into defense/rebounding he'd easily be an all-star.

Totally agree and I cant wait to see a line up of Harris, Hayward, AK, Favors, Big AL next year for 30 minutes agame. Thats a big lineup. Maybe with Fez being the back up Center. Wouldnt that be awesome to always have our 4 or 5 be a combo of AK, Jefferson, Favors, Fez. All 6ft9 or bigger. We could almost have our own Twin Towers
