Who has obviously stopped trying?

I haven't been able to watch games due to a crappy work schedule. I record them but haven't watched them due to our suckiness.

Who isn't trying? I keep reading about lack of effort. Is it a collective lack of effort, or are there, say, 3 guys who have obviously given up? Who hasn't thrown in the towel yet?

Everyone has stopped giving more than a little effort into running the offense and playing really good team D. The rookies are trying to make plays and things happen but they make a lot of mistakes.

Big Al is making a good effort on the glass and offensively but his defensive effort is lower than early in the year.

Everybody on defense has given up.

Devin is a good offensive player, but he's not rotating at all in some sets on defense. I think he's 2nd string material and good to bring off the bench for instant offense if you have a starting 1 worth his salt. It won't happen, but I would totally start Earl and get some plays run in the 1st quarter.

I think we've got good enough bigs, but we're in trouble at the 2 and perhaps the 3.

Earl is AWFUL on offense and his D has regressed. But yes Harris' did is pretty bad. He doesn't get in a stance at all. Quite sad because he is athletic and quick and should be able to play D

Honestly, I cannot wait for this off season. I can't wait to see AK walk down to his Russian friend's arena to annoy Deron in NJ for awhile. I can't wait for them to not pick up Miles option(they will, but a boy can dream) I can't wait to see Raja shipped off somewhere, if they can package him with a Millsap or Jefferson. I can't wait for Festinko to be gone along with Elson. I don't know what Price's contract is, but I can't wait for him to be gone either.

I can't for a big trade that sends either Millsap or JEfferson or both somewhere, our last two big tradeable assets, really, and sets us up to become a team of the future. Even if we will be a rookie team and have a terrible season, it can't be worse than this one.

Why the hate on Al? Have you seen what he has done for this team? Single handily has carried the team since Deron has been gone

well did anyone notice that Milsap hasn't been playing? he's the only person who has heart and hustles all day long. We complain about those who rest too much like AK and Boozer and to come back and suck. Milsap's rest is actually legit, but when he comes back he can usually produce. Trading Milsap would be crazy. Al is a monster on offense, but he really needs to learn how to pass. He's way to predictable, which is good if he makes shots but what if he doesn't?! His defense can be better but Boozer was so much worse.
Ideally for next season: Jazz get rid of Miles, Price, Elson, AK, and Fes. We would bench Raja. Find a great PG from the draft and bench Harris and use him for the energy and speed, then get rid of watson.
Realistically....The jazz would probably resign AK and Miles. Start Favors (which is great) but also start Raja, bench hayward, and blow the picks on the draft. Then they draft Jimmer. The Jazz would SUCK if they took this path.

No hate. I love Jefferson, but does Jefferson want to get stuck on another rebuilding team? He might be more valuable to us as a trade asset, and he might prefer to play for a team that will make a playoff push next year.

I really doubt the Jazz will make a playoff push next year.

CJ Miles Xbox live time has increased 3x since the Dwill trade.

CJ Miles is just sitting on the xbox live dashboard waiting for D-Will to come on.

Raja may as well be wearing slippers and a robe out there on the court. And then he has the nerve to say things like "It doesn't look like we're playing very hard." What a loser.

I think everyone tries initially, then once the first sign of adversity hits everyone pretty much gives up.

Aside from everyone, I think everyone has quit trying, with the notable exceptions of our rookies and AJ.

I think it's the exact opposite. I think the one thing this team has consistently done all season is show little to no energy or fight in the first period. I don't know if it just a bad habit/false sense of security that they acquired early in the season when they made all those comebacks on the first east coast swing or what. This team does not wake up defensively until sometime around late first period to middle second period. By then it's often too late.

It's really no secret; if you watch The Lakers, Spurs, Celtics; any team with a winning pedigree - most of the time they come out like gang busters and then they just try to hold serve the rest of the game.

As the great poet Mike Tyson said "Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the mouth". I think the biggest challenge Ty has is how to change things up when plan "A" doesn't work.
