What's new

With 8 days left, SPEAKING THE #1 PICK INTO EXISTENCE!!! No churro talk allowed

I’m angrier at the spurs getting the #1 pick. They got the best player for a generation 25ish years ago. If Wemby plays to his potential, then they got another Duncan and 4-6 titles over the next 20 years again.

But it just goes to show that the chance doesn't equate to success. The odds just aren't that great for the lottery.

The Blazers won like 16 more games than the Pistons and got a better pick.

Do the Spurs get the number 1 pick if they lose another game? Who knows, it's all random.
It’s random… with odds! And better odds are better than worse odds. Your failure to grasp this concept is concerning.

They've had it twice already. The admiral and Duncan and now Wemby. ********. Of all the teams in the entire lottery the Spurs made the most sense from a money perspective for the NBA. More fuel for the NBA bias conspiracy.

Ernst & Young did the lottery though..

Ok, they're better but not much better. Which is why the lottery almost never plays out the way the odds say they will.

Which is why I don't get the complaining about how the Jazz should have lost more games.

Three times better is much better. Only top 5 odds teams got into the top 4. Obviously it matters.

People bitching about the lottery are the absolute worst. Jazz DID tank. They tanked hard! They were a playoff team even after trading Mitchell and Gobert. They shucked assets left and right and sat players. They were too good to tank effectively. a bottom 5 record was NEVER going to happen. The only way that happened is if Lauri was legit injured for a majority of the season.

And yes, Lauri + 9 + what the Jazz have asset wise is >>>>>>>>>> than Detroit with 5 + whatever the hell they have going on.

What frustrates me is that we traded everyone at the all star break but we won 4 of the next 6 games. We then went 50/50 for a few weeks before losing virtually every remaining game.

If we had lost after the all star break like we should have and missed on say 5 more games then we would be sitting in the top 10 now.
