So it looks like we have quite a few poker players on the site, so was wondering what your worst beat was. I have taken several brutal ones, but the worst was about 6 months ago in Reno:
I am playing $2/$4 No Limit Hold Em at the Peppermill. I am on the button with KK. 2 people call the blind. So right now just $14 in the pot. I 4x raise the BB to $16. Both blinds fold. The other 2 call. Flop comes out: Ks Qs Qd. So I flop K's full. 1st player checks, next player bets $25. So now just under $40 in the pot. I am thinking the better probably called the raise with either KQ or AQ. If he called with 2 spades I don't really care (actually hope for) because I already have the boat. So I 3x raise th bet to $75. 1st position insta-folds. The better instantly goes all in for all of my chips. I had about $350 left behind. Now I am a little worried that she actually might have pocket Q's and flopped quads. I think for a moment, and decide that I am confident I have the best hand. I call. So there's roughly $900 in the pot now. I flip over K's full, and she flips over As Js. A small sense of relief comes over me because she is so dominated. The turn is a blank. The river, however, is the 10s giving her the Royal Flush.
BRUTAL!
Let's hear yours.
