Drafting Jimmer after Knight is the height of Jimmer desperation. So far.
Jimmer's measurements 6ft 3/4in with out shoes. Walker 5ft 11.3/4in without shoes. Knight I think has more upside with the 3rd pick. Kanter just said he wants to go to Washington, Clvland, or Minny. Nothing about Utah and it's sad he wants Minny more then Utah!! Plus, I think Knight at 3 and Singleton at 12 would be a solid draft, which would allow Hayward to play the 2!
And if Kanter does't want to play in Utah lets draft Knight!!
Listening and reading David Locke's statistics showing the success rate of players drafted in different positions (e.g., 1-3, 4-10, 11-15, etc.) I'm convinced that who we select at #3 historically has huge potential impact but who we select at #12 historically has very little impact. Thus I don't really care that much about #12; in fact, I think taking a flier on Jimmer might be a risk worth taking. If it doesn't pan out, that's ok, #12 picks rarely pan out. If Jimmer could end up being a JJ Barea (maybe his upside), I'd be pretty happy with that, as I consider JJ a quality backup who can occasionally impact the game. The #3 pick HAS to be pegged as a starter, and soon. I'm perfectly comfortable using the #12 pick to get a quality sub and role player.
Derrick Williams or bust.
the 12 pick probably won't make a big difference one way or the other.
