What's new

Would you rather have Durant or the entire Grizzlies roster?

Lol not our roster and if they turn out to be superstar you regret not pull in the trigger for life.

Stockton was a 16th pick and Malone was a 13th pick. Do we bet the farm on Wiggins or Parker when there are guys like Gordon, Smart, Stauskas, etc. who could possibly become great, too?

Giving up Favors, Burks and the #5 pick(let's say Gordon) for Lebron in 2003? No doubt! For this draft? Probably not.

Not so easy to "quickly build a roster."
Jazz had two of the greatest of all time. But they couldn't build a championship roster around them, not through the draft nor free agency.

Different situation now adays!!!

hack would you trade a whole team for olawakandi? how bout kwame brown? what about darko milicic?

All the guys mentioned are bigs. Bigs have traditionally had a higher chance of becoming busts. I think gambling on Parker or Wiggins (wings) are lower risk than trading so much for another big.

It's worth the risk to me. Look who is winning championships over the past 15 years. I don't think anyone on our current roster could ever be the best player or even second best player on any of those championship teams. Whereas I think Wiggins and Parker have a chance of playing at that level.

im not going to look it up but i bet top picks that were wings have been busts too

I agree though that bigs are MORE of a risk though

So let's say that #5 is just as good as Parker or Wiggins would you regret making that move?

You make moves with the information you have at the time and understanding that you can be wrong. So, no. I'd be happy with the opportunity to have the first pick in an exceptional draft and have faith that my organization makes the most out of that situation. If Marcus Smart is the best player in the draft, I wouldn't go kicking rocks.

If they are doing it for Embiid, I say HELL NO. Stress fractures in a big man are DEATH... Oden and Bowie ring a bell? If Lindsey does this trade and takes Embiid, he should be fired on the spot, especially since it is almost a guarantee that Embiid will drop to at least no. 3.

That package doesn't buy you anywhere close to LeBron in 2003 but it might buy you Wiggins this year. See the difference?

damn, i was just about to inquire about that age old question to our friend there

Wiggins has all the gifts and athleticism to be Kobe or MJ. Parker could end up being a mix between Lebron and Carmelo. You make the trade based on the potential alone.
The only thing Jabari and Lebron have in common is height (6'8") and weight (~250lbs). They have nothing else in common. Nothing.
