What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

Agreed. Especially since I think we can get Mirotic for cheaper, and get him locked in (none of the Favors homers want to bring up that Favors can just walk next year after all of this).

You aren't getting Mirotic for much cheaper than Favors though. Someone will likely give him a 1 year $15 million if they strike out this year. I wouldn't do that, but someone will.

Well, that sucks. I would probably still offer half the room exception to Caruso though, unless we have a min contract SG in mind.

If you waived Favs you could offer like 4/50 for Niko and still have a 4-5M to throw at Caruso. Hardly ever see more than one or two years on guys like that but I'd go 4/16-20 without hesitation.

Right but the guy has been traded each of the last two years... 13-14M on a multiyear deal takes the cake imo.

I would offer Caruso a 4 year deal around 4-5M... which is waaaayyyy more than he'd get... I just think his floor is a solid minute filling guard and he might be more than that. I think he could be an awesome value... if not a basic NBA playable NBA guard costs that much.

I just don't see how he isn't an NBA player.

I think he's yours at that price. I agree with you that he is worth that. I just wonder what we do for PF depth at that point. I'm not entirely comfortable just rolling with Georges.

Why would he when he could lock in years, IF he even gets that? Furthermore, IF you paid Mirotic $15 million, that STILL gets the Jazz another $2 million which counts when you are cap-strapped.

Niang and Royce can play there some... I also think there will be a guy like Anthony Tolliver or Jonas Jerebko that will be available for the minimum.

Niang is playable there as a backup... if there are injuries it becomes an issue.

Like I have said, I'm OK with Mirotic replacing Favors OR Crowder. I'm scared as Hell with him replacing Favors AND Crowder.

No, I think that's the WORST he gets. I actually believe someone, the Knicks for instance, gives him a Favors contract. Being a free agent next year isn't a bad deal as there isn't as much competition. Also, Niko just strikes me as a guy that might get too comfortable on a multi-year deal. Favors is the Devil I know.

I think Niang still has upside, I just enjoy the Favors security blanket so, so much. . .
