Another nice thing about international second round picks is that if you have cap room, you can use them as 'your end' of entirely one sided picks to take first round picks and salary off of another team in cap dumps without spending any kind of real asset. We send an international player that we don't care about and they send a possible lottery pick and someones 8 mil or so aged vet who we simply let go. Bang, we have a possible lottery pick and don't really effect the current roster at all. Otherwise we have to send an actual player from the roster to make the trade work, either that or we send a future second which may be the next Paul Millsap. I'm not saying that this guy isn't worth anything, but if he does pan out before we trade him, we still have him in case of a roster opening if he turns out to be good, or he becomes a more valuable asset. It's win win.
