Bro, straight from the horse's mouth, DL said he was surprised by Gobert's development. If Gobert hasn't developed to the point where he's a starting Center calibre player I bet you DL would have kept Kanter & resign him for whatever he wanted next year.
But since the start of the season that situation changed and Kanter became disposable. However by then Kanter only has 1/2 a year left this year & he'll hit RFA next year meaning teams are more reluctant to give up good assets for him.
