What's new

Detroit Pistons @ Utah Jazz, 8pm Central Time

The Jazz were clutch offensively down the stretch. Would've been nice to get some stops in the 4th quarter, sure, but closing out a game offensively is a monster step for this team.

That worries me BTW. Seems like Favors defers on the defensive glass to Gobert and that was about to cost us this game. He needs to be focused and engaged on the glass. He had 1 rebound in 35 minutes, that's not good.

Eh, I'm not worried yet. I think fighting over the same rebounds to pad stats (ala Lance Stephenson) would be worse. And by letting Gobert get the obvious boards he can save that energy and use it on offense, which is what I felt like he did tonight.

I think this the part about the team that tops-off my excitement for them: I think all the players are now willing to take on a role to optimize for the team concept. I think Kanter putting forth the selfish perspective and then being moved is so important. "Join the team and play your role, or go somewhere else. We have the right team members that we'll trade your selfish arse for 2 d-leaguers and a couple of 2nd round picks..."
.
I don't have any concern for favors forgetting how to rebound. His role has changed.

Curious for people's reactions to Trey Burke's post-game interview at utahjazz.com - he looks like he's about to cry.

I feel like the whole team does this.

The real question is: did you get your free Jazz lunch container?

Left it under my seat :(

Seats were good though:

We also had a lot of deflections yet Detroit seemed to recover a decent amount of them. And that Jackson 3 was ridiculous. We had some awesome plays but the Jazz should have played better.

He kind of always has that look... I'll check it out though.
