A bit of trade speculation surrounding Cousins...

David lives too much in the moment.. if cousins was acquired, he would be riding his jock. Its abundantly clear... Cousins... has top 5 (1st team NBA) potential/talent. He just needs a badass to reign him in and coax it out of him (Coach Q). You need at least 1 1st teamer to win it all.... we don't and wont have that... getting 1st team talent should still be a priority IMO.

I'm not lobbying for this, but Cousins does currently guard the pick and roll. He doesn't guard stretch shooters, but he defends better than say Kanter did.

The idea would be that Gobert + Cousins is the best front court in the league hands down. Then you've got Exum and Hayward as facilitators and Hood as a spot-up shooter.

I can't disagree with you. You could add Rodman to that list. I think these guys were actually good teammates though, just nutjobs. Whereas, Cousins is apparently a problem in the locker room.

THIS IS A HYPOTHETICAL, if DL swapped Cousins for Favors and a pick or so, This would be Locke's answer. Kind of hard to walk back calling someone worse than literal cancer though.

If Q could get Cousins not to be such a lil bitch though. I mean. Can you imagine? He would leapfrog everybody but Pop and Phil Jackson as best coach in the world.

Name, Agility, Sprint, Wingspan
Favors, 11.74, 3.25, 7’4’’
Cousins, 11.40, 3.55, 7’6’’

Cousins is both more agile and longer than favors. He also has a better defRtg, and averages more steals and the same # of blocks per36. I don't see why he couldn't have similar success as Favors out on the perimeter with proper motivation.
 
If I'm Sacramento, I'd try to get Blake Griffin. And if that doesn't work, I'd go after Derrick Favors and picks.

I do think this smoke is rising before the draft so whomever gets lined up to take Okafor or Towns will have the option to trade for Cousins....but then a truckload of salary would have to be moved as well.

If I'm Sacramento I trade him to the East, not to a team I have to play 4 times a year.

That's a good question.

Let's think about it though. Regardless of cousins.... will this chemistry even roll over to next year? 6 months are about to pass... we are bound to have 2,3,4 or more new faces on the roster... the locker room will surely be different. If ingles is gone, does the team fall apart? You cant pander to chemistry OVER legit talent. Get the best players, and have your staff figure out how to make it work (IMO).

Don't have much else as far as tangibles to back up my point... so yeah, it is what it is. My point is more or less that the physical tools are there, with proper motivation and schemes i don't see the defensive catastrophe as foretold.

This will be interesting to watch. I think they have to take whatever decent deal they can get. I'm trying to think what they could get back....

They need to take back good players who are willing to play in Sacramento for one thing.

Debatable .. only IF there is a big difference in talent. Personally i think Favors has a more than adequate level of talent and am comfortable with what he can deliver combined with his high character. Someone shouldn't need to be in the perfect environment to be a professional and not behave like a petulant child.
 
Boston has lots of extra picks. They would be a good destination.

Plus, it would make draft day more interesting as we all watched to se how Sacramento was going to screw it up.
