Following potential 2015 draftees

Sucks for him. Going from #2 overall when the college season started to probably undrafted if his injury is serious. I was never a fan of him, but maybe he'd be a decent undrafted pick-up.

Unpopular opinion: I'd be very wary drafting Winslow in the top 5 or 6. He has a decent set shot, but I don't know if he can develop much of an offensive game. His handles are so-so and he resorted to bullying people in the paint in college which he wouldn't be able to do at the next level. The tournament raised his stock more than I thought it would.

I also don't think D'Angelo Russell is as sure a thing as other people think. People are saying Brandon Roy/James Harden/Steph Curry, but I see more of a higher IQ/better passing, streaky Jamal Crawford type. He can shoot, dribble, and pass, but I just wonder if he can put those tools together to effectively break down defenses with his dribbling and passing, or hit pull-up jumpers to open up the other parts of his game. He definitely has a very high upside and I'm sure if he goes to the 76ers and they let him put up 15 shots per game he can put up some great stats, but I don't know if it will eventually translate to winning games.

I like winslow a lot. I went to the duke tourney game against gonzaga and he was the best player on the court. The thing that doesnt really show up on tv is the degree of difficulty his shots are when he goes to the hoop. There were a couple layups he made that he positioned so well off the backboard it made me take note. Hes highly skilled and really athletic.

I dont think dangelo is harden either. Hes not strong enough. I think hes a 6'5" lillard with better court vision.

He shot well on the season and has a quick release. 20 shots is not that big a sample size. Was he warming up? Was it after a fatiguing drill? Id like to see him shoot 200 shots then figure it out from there. That said, i agree. His shot is ugly and 8/20 is not very good. You cant argue with 40+% on the season tho.

40+% on 30 shot attempts is a small sample size. He didn't even average one three attempted a game.

Holy ****. That's a top-10 player in the league.

Portis is never going to be your go to three point shooter.
Portis is your low post do the dirty work type player.

If you have an ugly shot release and the first four letters of your last name are P-O-R-T, there is a 100% chance Cy will like you.

I think Russell will be fine. He's the closest thing to a sure thing in this draft, imo.

I thought we wanted a stretch four. So how does Portis help us out? By making the paint even more crowded?

Portis' shot looks ugly, but at the end of the day the question is whether it goes in or not. He's shown in college that he can shoot well from midrange. Extending it to the NBA 3p line might be a problem, though... Portis does much more than shooting, though, and his defense is pretty good. He's known as a player that plays hard with a lot of hustle, defends well... has good IQ and feel for the game and is a good passer. Those are all skills you'd like in a system relying on a lot of motion and passing. If he can stretch the floor to 18 feet that'd be a great start, too.

I love Hood, but would be willing to trade him with #12 to move up for Winslow or Russell. Both could complement Hayward very well. Winslow would be a good 3 wing combo with burks,so I think Winslow fits better. Russell would be a 1/2 combo and leave a bit of a hole at backup SF, unless you really like Ingles. Also think Winslows attitude would complement our defensive mentality. I'd put him almost on par with Russell for the Jazz. I would hesitate doing it for Hezonja, just don't know enough about him. Doesn't make sense to trade for any of the bigs and don't know enough about Mudiay, exum is our future pg anyway.

No need to wonder. He can

As for winslow, my favorite things about him are his motor, attitude, work ethic.
I think he will work hard to eliminate his weaknesses.

Without a doubt. Especially for Russell. That's a no brainer.

The other team would say hell no though

Depends on if he can defend.
Harden can't defend. He is a top ten player.
Curry doesn't play much D. He is the league mvp.

Dirk nowitzki was not known for his defensive skills. I think he was top ten in his prime.

Curry defends well. Harden is better than people realize, particularly this last year and Nowitzki played d at his peak.

Don't start this again
Lol.
Just saying that good defense is not a requirement to being considered a top ten player.
