I'd pick Johnson if both him and Turner are available, but I love Turner's potential. The gap has been getting smaller between those two in my big board... I don't know if my mind would change by draft night.
I'd take Stanley Johnson and laugh all the way to the bank. In the hands of a skilled player developmental coaching staff he will turn out to be a strait up stud. Physically he has an NBA ready body, and his skill set reminds me a lot of Jimmy Butler. My hope is that he can elevate his offensive game to be a true two-way player and start opposite Gordon Hayward. As highly as I think of Burks and Hood, that would be a fantastic outcome.
I'm not as hyped about Johnson as some of you here. From what I've read he's probably a role player/solid player at best. I don't like how he didn't finish at the rim that well, while having a physical NBA body. I think a big is a lot more needed on our team and turner has a lot of potential.
We are hoping Johnson would become a 3/4 defender right?
ThisNo way you pass on Johnson at #12.

I like Johnson, but I also see some risk there. Offensively, he's a 6'7" guy who benefited from being stronger and a bit quicker than college players. It may not all translate to the pros. All the exciting offensive things Johnson did, I also saw Derrick Williams do at Arizona. Now granted, Johnson may have a better work ethic and motor, but I wonder where Johnson is going to get his points other than spotting up and filling the lane.
I was psyched about the idea of Johnson playing the 4. His skills and versatility could be a real advantage at that position, but he measured an inch or two shorter than I thought he would at the combine. Then I saw Looney footage where it looked like Johnson couldn't deal with Looney's length. I don't think you can put Johnson at the 4 unless you call it small ball, basically.
He's a power-3, probably a better version of Rick Fox pre-injuries, but I'm not 100% convinced he adds a new dimension and impact to what we have.
Does he have enough shot creation, shot making, passing, rebounding to be a starter for the Jazz? It's not a given.
I had a vision that Jazz picked Dekker at 12

I can. I don't think he's that goodNo way you pass on Johnson at #12.
This is my dream draft but I'm starting to like TurnerI had a vision that Jazz picked Dekker at 12 and traded future first and second for RJ Hunter in mid-20s.
My salvationThat's my nightmare.
I'd go Turner. I'm high on his potential. Swing for the fences.
He's 6'6", all the measurements are clearly available...be accurate. That's why his stock is ultimately dropping.
