Don't really see DL dealing with Rich Cho.
If it's the difference between getting who you want or not (and the price is right) you make the deal.

Qualls declared for the draft to provide for his family/son. I think we often forget about the very human aspects of professional decisions.
I think they would be pretty happy with Hezonja.
Damn, that's even more sad ...![]()
Maybe the Suns will do the right thing and draft him in the 2nd round. ACL tears aren't as bad as they used to be and Phoenix does have one of the best training staffs in the league. Draft him. Sit him. Let him heal. See how he looks a year or two from now, when the roster spot is more valuable.
The Hornets are another team that might be good option for trading up if we decide we like somebody too much to wait for at 12...

That's what I was thinking too. They brought him in for a workout and they should do the right thing by drafting him to get him back on his feet. He just might end up as a steal.![]()
As I said earlier - with all the international prospects dropping out of the draft, I wouldn't mind if we consider him as a stash player and draft him with our 54 pick and help him recover and get his start in the league. He has solid role player potential.
He would take up a roster spot right?
I didn't think the NBA had an injured players list. You can get a roster exception of too many players are hurt for a significant amount of time, but I thought teams were limited to the 15 man limit - injuries or not. Not that I'm opposed to taking him late and punting on his rookie year. . . I'm just worried that the Jazz use the end of the bench spots for turnover and tryouts. Not sure keeping an injured rookie fits that narrative.
Rosters used to be 12, with a 3 player injured reserve. They did away with that, and now have a 15 man roster with a 3 player inactive list. You can be inactive for several reasons - injury, D-League assignment, poor play, etc. just like Noeland Embiid had to count on the 15 man roster for the year they say out, Qualls will still have to count towards that number and just spend the season rehabbing. Not a bad deal if you have the roster spot you're willing to burn for a season.I read that here:

To be fair I'm not certain it's reliable.

I really wish college guys could withdraw just like international players can. He'd likely go back to school, take a redshirt year and come out after his junior season.
Sad about Qualls. If that takes him off the board, the combo guard to target now iin the 2nd, is Joe Young, IMO.
