Following potential 2015 draftees

Listening to SVP and Russillo the other day, Russillo said he'd talked to a scout he respects a ton who said KAT is the best shooter in the draft. Not best shooting big, but best overall shooter.

Curious what PKM would say about that. Based on how he shot FTs, it may not be that far fetched. Just because he wasn't asked to shoot the 3 at UK doesn't mean he couldn't, I guess.

I have never seen a big hit so many 3's in practice, consistently.

However, even though he has good form and a feathery, effortless touch (no homo), he has a little jump stop and a semi-low/slow release that sees him get his shot challenged and not as translatable to in-game scenarios.

I think he has massive upside as the best 3pt shooting:blocks center in the league, but he needs a few years to get his groove. He will begin with some putbacks, blocks, and 10 footers.. and work from there.

Interesting. Thanks for the insight.

@stevekylerNBA: Hearing Devin Booker's floor maybe #9 to Charlotte... and Stanley Johnson floor is #10 to Miami.

Interesting .

That's fine with me. Problem is, I think Indy would take Turner at 11. Curse of the coin flip, eh? Still glad Cotton went off in a meaningless game?

Could be one of the best passing bigs too.

Could be one of the best passing bigs too.

yes. VERY underrated in that regard.

I was 100% certain I KNEW how Calipari would use him this year.. and was wrong.

I saw him parking Towns at the free throw line extended to see over the defense and feed him for the pass (he's LETHAL) and if anyone backs off he can hit that shot all.. damn.. day..

Playing a sort of not really point forward type of role with running the offense through him with his great vision/passing, reading of the defense, and his shooting touch, would have made him unstoppable. If only Cal could coach and ****.

timber pups - will take towns
fakers - they are trickier I think Russell and okafor but I say Russell after watch gsw win it
76 lossers - honestly I see them taking porzingis
snicker knicker- okafor best case for them but I could see them look long and hard at mudiay
Harry potters- mudiay is BPA but they take hezonja over Winslow
no sactown - is dancing with mudiay
thugz - cant believe Winslow is on the board
wizztons - size does mater but they draft Johnson anyway
bubble bees - booker best pick here
south beachers - nab oubre figering wade and bosh can light a fire under him
pace cars - they can go a lot a directions but lets go with the flow and take Payne
super jazzed - take u turn and draft turner.

Sorry but all your names you say these teams makes it hard to even take serious. Why you do that anyway. But you are so smart mostly.

Here is my mock draft with trades included while looking outside the box, fwiw:

1. Minnesota Timberwolves - Karl-Anthony Towns
2. Los Angeles Lakers - Jahlil Okafor
3. Philadelphia 76ers - D'Angelo Russell
4. New York Knicks - Justise Winslow
5. Orlando Magic - Kristaps Porzingis
6. Sacramento Kings - Emmanuel Mudiay
7. Denver Nuggets - Mario Hezonja
8. Detroit Pistons - Devin Booker
9. Charlotte Hornets - Willie Cauley-Stein*
10. Miami Heat - Stanley Johnson
11. Indiana Pacers - Cameron Payne
12. Utah Jazz - Myles Turner
13. Phoenix Suns - Frank Kaminsky
14. Oklahoma City Thunder - Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
15. Atlanta Hawks - Kelly Oubre
16. Boston Celtics - R.J. Hunter*

*Boston trades #16, #28, and a 2016 first round pick (via Dallas) to Charlotte for #9.

Call me crazy for putting Winslow at #4 or Booker at #8 or Hollis-Jefferson at #14, but crazy stuff happens on draft day and nothing goes as planned. I'm pretty sure there is going to be at least one or two trades involving the lottery picks. Dekker, Lyles, Portis, and Looney would all go somewhere between 17 and 22, I think, in this situation.

My current rankings, not mock draft

1. Karl Towns
2. Diangello Russell
3. Emanual Mudiay
4. Mario Hezonja
5. Justise Winslow
6. Stanley Johnson
7. Jahlil Okafor
8. Frank Kaminsky
9. Kristaps Porzingis
10. Devin Booker
11. Cameron Payne
12. Myles Turner

Good for you not going with the consensus. I agree with most of this, I'm higher on Mudiay than most (suggested trading up for him). I'm not sure about your rankings of Okafor, Kaminsky, and Porzingis, but that's why their your rankings and not mine.

I think they could go many ways. Payne, WCS (if he falls), Kaminsky. It seems like Turner hasn't moved up all that much.

Interesting .

It's one of the easier fits to predict. Third worst offense in the league last year, and the worst three point shooting team at 31.8%.
Unless he completely bombed his workout, Charlotte seems like a home for Booker.

Porz could easily be the best player in this draft.
No.

I'm following your Mario logic but Towns will be the best player from this draft.

I'd throw Favors and multiple first rounders (like 4 or 5 of them) for Towns. Too bad Minny says no each time.
