What's new

Trey Lyles being held out of practice/Summer League for now

Weird that a player anticipated contract issues.

Maybe it has something to do with playing on the Canadian team?

Not this summer, I read a story on Canadian basketball that said they were moving ahead without lyles this summer, but he wants to play for them if they qualify.

Adam Smith @BoltFan55

@Tjonessltrib Only two 1st round picks have signed but only Lyles not playing for their teams in summer league. What's really going on?

...

For a team bake cake this lyles not play is so stupid unless they can trade him. I don't like him and never did that pick!!!! I hope give him and get is a real player.

Just think how angry the fans will be when the Jazz make no roster moves and waist the summer league for Lyles. I've looked at who the Jazz can theoretically get and I'm not really seeing anything worth keeping him out.

With Neto signing, I think they are trying to work out a trade for Burke. They are keeping Lyles uncommitted for in case he needs to be include, to work out the trade details.

We are not hearing Burke's name being mentioned as being involved during the summer, like the other young guns

Link to Neto signing.....

i don't think Neto or Pleiss have signed yet.

They haven't. It looks like they're in limbo until the Jazz do whatever it is that they're planning to do. Hoping the holdup is worth it.

It's interesting to me, that the only players that have been linked to the Jazz are both in town and have their rights owned by Utah. Feels like a foregone conclusion that Pleiss and Neto will be members of the team this upcoming season. Hopefully Porzingis gets to join them. Not sold on any of the other rumors at this point.

Where all this speculation really gets interesting is how we parlay Paul George into Kevin Durant and picks. I've been thinking about that a lot the past couple of days, and if what PKM implies is true, then I can't see how this parlay doesn't go down immediately afterward. My sources tell me that OKC knows Durant is outta there after the end of this year. So, the jazz get him for one year + he signs a one-year deal for 2016-17 so he hits FA when the cap is at it's peak. The jazz obvi win the championship one or both of those years, so he signs with us long-term.

My main hang-up with this right now: ... this plan does not constitute cake baking. It also moves Hayward back to Shootin' Guard, which would be an absolute nightmare.
