"European 7-footer Tibor Pleiss is finalizing a three-year, nearly $10 million agreement with the Utah Jazz, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Pleiss, 25, has been one of the top centers in the Spanish ACB league and is only awaiting the completion of paperwork on the agreed-upon buyout with his Barcelona contract in order to sign with the Jazz early next week, league sources said.

Pleiss, a German, was the 31st overall pick of the 2010 NBA draft before his rights were traded three times, ultimately to the Jazz as part of the Enes Kanter trade in February. Pleiss has developed into one of Europe's better center prospects and is considered one of the best passing big men in the world. Oklahoma City Thunder officials tried to bring Pleiss to the NBA a year ago, but his buyout in the Spanish ACB League was still too prohibitive.

Pleiss will join a strong and deep Jazz frontcourt, including 7-foot-2 Rudy Gobert and power forward Derrick Favors."

No it's not. Not for a 2nd round rookie who's in his mid 20s. Not dying it's a bad deal but no way is it cheap. It's more then Ingles and ingles proved he belongs in the league already.

Not sure if serious.. A little over 3 mil a year for a BIG in this league? Omer Asik is getting 12 mil a year, Robin Lopez is getting 13.5 mil a year, Alexis ****ing Ajinca is getting 5 mil a year for crying out loud.

7 foot athletic centers with pro experience in the Spanish league will always be paid more than a wing.

Ingles is two years older than Pleiss, and he's not a passing/floor spacing 7'1" center.

I don't know why anyone's worried about our budget and any of the contracts we dole out; our current situation is having $25k to spend on a vehicle and we opt for a 2013 Nissan Sentra with 30k miles.

Not a car salesman, so I have no idea what this analogy means.

Even though we've had minimal action this offseason it still has been a very interesting one thus far.....delaying Lyles' signing, Bringing in Neto (hopefully they see something I don't cuz I'm not impressed at all (haven't seen THAT much of him) but I don't see him being better than Burke, or Cotton)and now the giant German....it would be nice if he turns into something decent and we're able to actually get something decent out of the Kanter deal

Sounds like he's saying we had enough money to buy a 2015 car with no miles, but we decided to save money and get a 2013 with 30K miles on it. Not sure how this analogy has anything to do with the situation.

The better analogy is we have enough money to buy a 1993 car that runs solid but has been passed around a few times and has a lot of miles on it and instead the car dealer hooked us up with a 2013 car with 30K miles on it for the same price.

So 25k for a 2013 Nissan Sentra with 30k miles is bad value? This is just so ****ing specific. I mean 2013 Nissan Sentra? ROFL.

I'm confused now. 25k for a 2013 Nissan Sentra with 30k miles is bad value. It's worth probably about half of that.

It's not a cheap contract for a guy we don't know will even work out in the league, but it doesn't matter much... it's also not a horrible contract that will hinder us in any major way anyways.

I think it's a great deal by what I've seen. If he pans out in this league he will be a great asset to have.
