Las Vegas Summer League Game Thread: July 11th - Utah Jazz vs. Miami Heat 7:30 PM PST

Love it when people chime in about "limited upside!!!!" for a freaking 19 year old. We have one of the best player development coaches in the business. How about we give him a year or two to see what he can do with a 19 year old. Quinn was in on the decision to draft him. There must be something there. . .

Bro, I said the same exact thing about Trey Burke his first summer league. And you know what responses came from that. The same exact one you just posted.

Trying flashy passes that are being intercepted, um staring off into the crowd after making a nice play....hasn't been that much of it the 2nd half

This strikes me as awfully nit-picky, considering he's been by a decent gap the best player on the court tonight.

Lyles shot can be fixed, his body can get stronger, but he doesn't seem like he has much energy. He looks exhausted all the time. Maybe he's a mouth breather...:)

Lmao. We must be watching different games. Since when is staring in the crowd "flasy". Seriously you have no clue what youre talking about.

Every useful nba player has at least one thing they are great at. Is it apparent to anyone what lyles' is?

Lyles's shortcomings on offense don't concern me at this stage.

That "defense" though, hoo boy.

Exactly.

He looks like he'll be pretty good offensively. But defense is pretty damn important.

We will probably be able to hide him because we already have good defending bigs, but as far as assets go. It doesn't look great.

If we didn't already have Rudy and Favors, the Trey Lyles pick would look a whole lot worse.

Going to the FT line through the 2 games if we are going to draw conclusions off 2 games only.

Once the season starts, refs will swallow their whistles with rookies. I oppressed that will not translate
